Shantou Fireworks Mobile Toilets
During the 2024 Shantou New Year's Eve Grand Fireworks Display, a total of 360 individual mobile toilets were set up on both sides of the Inner Bay, distributed across six areas, with specific configurations and management measures as follows:

I. Regional Distribution and Quantity Allocation
- Main Viewing Area: As the core area, a total of 15 locations were set up, housing 200 mobile toilets. Among them, there are 6 locations in the audience viewing area, with 16 toilets placed at each location; 6 locations in the car park, with 8 toilets at each location; and 1 location each in the emergency parking lot, live broadcast area, and the road section leading to Longzhu Sewage Treatment Plant, with 8, 8, and 16 toilets respectively. This area accounts for over 55% of the total number of toilets, meeting the needs of high-density pedestrian flow.
- Nanbin Road Section: From Nanbin Road Tiantan Garden to Yueshui Bay section, 10 locations were set up, with 10 toilets placed at each location, totaling 100 toilets. This section serves as a secondary viewing area with a moderately dense distribution of toilets.
- Haibin Road Section: Three locations were set up from Dongxia Road to Jinhuan Road, with 10 toilets placed at each location, totaling 30 toilets. This area covers part of the viewing crowd, with the number of toilets allocated matching the length of the road section.
- Overseas Chinese Park Viewing Area: One location was set up on Shuangyuan Road in front of the park, housing 10 mobile toilets to serve surrounding tourists.
- Mayu Island Viewing Area: Two locations were set up, with 8 toilets placed at each location, totaling 16 toilets, meeting the needs of tourists in the island area.
- Century Building Rooftop: One location was set up, housing 4 toilets, providing convenience for high-rise viewing points.
II. Quantity Increase and Management Upgrade The number of mobile toilets in 2024 has doubled compared to the Spring Festival Fireworks Display in 2023, reflecting an improvement in service capacity. In addition to basic facilities, each toilet location is equipped with auxiliary equipment such as large trash bins, white buckets, and dippers, and free toilet paper is provided to optimize the user experience. Furthermore, the organizers have arranged for dedicated personnel to conduct inspections and management, ensuring that the equipment is in good condition, the environment is clean, and congestion or sanitation issues are avoided.
III. Functional Positioning and Demand Matching The layout of mobile toilets takes into account pedestrian density, viewing area distribution, and traffic flow. The main viewing area has the highest number of toilets due to the concentration of people; sections such as Nanbin Road and Haibin Road allocate resources based on the length of the road section and the number of tourists; while remote areas like Mayu Island focus on covering basic needs. Through differentiated allocation, resources are utilized efficiently, ensuring convenience in using toilets during the event.
