Modular Housing | Separation and Connection in a Green Meadow Home

This home sits in a pleasant village in central Bohemia, on a green meadow near a cluster of trees. It is a three-generation house: when summer and weekends arrive, grandparents, parents, and two young sons spend wonderful time here.

The house is composed of a series of interconnected smaller volumes, each with its own purpose. The central volume is where the family gathers—it holds a living room with a fireplace, a dining area, and a kitchen. This is truly the heart of the home; large sliding glass doors lead out to the outdoor terrace and garden.

The entire house is surrounded by a large garden planted with trees, fruit, vegetables, and herbs and spices that can serve as everyday cooking ingredients. All volumes share a single entrance space with support facilities, a small shed that can serve as a workshop, and a covered parking area.

Each generation has its own private space. The grandparents' volume includes a living area, a bedroom, and sanitary facilities. The parents' volume has a spacious bedroom, a bathroom, and a study that can serve as a guest room when needed. The second floor belongs to the children, with excellent views of the surroundings.
