Roundup: Container Commercial Streets & Markets That Opened in 2023 (2)
4. Sihui Julizi Container Viral Night-Economy District
Julizi sits beside the Sihui Sports Center, covering 12,000 sqm in total, and is planned as Sihui's viral container night-economy district. In mid-June this year the project completed filing. Plans call for 20 two-story container buildings and 4 two-story steel-structure buildings, installing 320 containers and about 500 parking spaces, with a total investment of $5,555,556. Once complete, estimated annual output is $6,944,444 and annual tax revenue $208,333. The overall Julizi night-economy culture district takes "open outdoor space," "waterside camping culture," and a "trendy play community" as its design ideas. While fully supporting residents' sports and wellness needs, it blends youth entrepreneurship, culture, dining, entertainment, retail, and ecology—aiming to build a leisure night-tour culture brand for Sihui residents. On the tenant mix, the street gathers many distinctive shops that meet rich nightlife and leisure demand. About 70% of the businesses that have moved in are run by young people; diverse startup formats fuel entrepreneurial energy and carefully shape a "talent night market" platform.

5. Wenshan Sakura Valley Commercial Street
Wenshan's first container commercial street stretches 120 meters and plans 35 container shops across four zones: Zone A for fruit and cold drinks; Zones B and C for snacks and dining; Zone D for groceries and general merchandise. The night market was built by Wenshan Qidu Construction Investment Development Group Co., Ltd. on idle community land to address the relative lack of daily-life and leisure amenities around Xinmin Homeland in Sakura Valley. Once finished, the project can meet nearby residents' living and cultural needs.
At night, food and drink are not to be missed. Walking the commercial street, red, yellow, and blue containers transform into neat barbecue stalls, fried-rice shops, milk-tea stands, and children's craft booths. Square tables and small stools outside invite people to sit and eat. The container night market has a distinctive atmosphere: sitting with friends around a table, watching anime and landscape projections on the pavement, then looking up at bright light signs of hot pot, skewers, and cartoon characters on the container walls—the backdrop feels both novel and beautiful.

6. Wenzhou Dongtou Sanpan Coastal Pastoral Song "Wandao Bay" Container Theme District
Dongtou's creative culture-tourism street—"island vibe + cool containers"—is officially open. "Coastal" and "fashion" are the standout signs here: eat, drink, play, and shop in one place. It is not only a playground for young people, but also a new trendy check-in landmark in Dongtou.
What was once a place to dry and store fishing nets is now a culture-tourism consumption hub. Sanpan Coastal Pastoral Song's "Wandao Bay" container theme district sits at Sanpan Xishantou, facing Wuzeiao Beach. Under the sun, bright colors collide. The cluster is divided into three areas—a mixed commercial zone, a themed dining zone, and a leisure beach zone. Thoughtful space and layout fill every corner with color. The coastal leisure reception center weaves ocean, beach, and tropical-tree elements into the container structure—comfortable, relaxed, and full of character, and a stylish spot for photos.

7. Zhejiang Zhoushan "Hi Youth" Container Commercial Street Phase I
Hedong Village in Baiquan Town is home to Phase I of the "Hi Youth" container commercial street, directly opposite Zhoushan Technician College. It has 22 container shops. Within a 1 km radius sit the village committee, the town government, Zhoushan Technician College, Shanghai Ruijin Hospital, and more—daily foot traffic is high. On school days more than 4,000 teachers and students form a steady customer base; weekend public exams bring fresh faces and energy, so business opportunity is strong.
The commercial street is at No. 88 Hedong Yuanshan, opposite Zhoushan Technician College. Total site area is about 2,500 sqm, formed by two carefully designed and fitted-out rows of containers, creating a distinctive creative retail strip. Shops cover snacks, coffee, nail services, and more, with parking to meet villagers' varied needs.
