Airplane with Mobile Toilet Facilities

Admin September 20, 2026

This airplane, capable of carrying 800 passengers, resolves the excretion issues of nearly 900 passengers through its large and efficient circulation system, ensuring smooth flight operations.

I. Basic Information of the Airplane The airplane features a two-deck design, with the main deck accommodating 583 passengers and the upper deck accommodating 330 passengers, bringing the total passenger capacity to nearly 900. Such a large passenger capacity places extremely high demands on the waste disposal system, necessitating special design for efficient management.

II. Waste Disposal System Four large red waste tanks are installed at the bottom of the airplane, with a total capacity exceeding 2000 liters. All waste generated in the restrooms and kitchen is collected into these waste tanks through blue pipes. The piping system is sealed to prevent waste leakage or odor diffusion, while ensuring rapid waste flow into the tanks through a combination of gravity and pressure. When the waste tanks are full, ground maintenance personnel use dedicated interfaces to suction and clean them, ensuring the system is empty before each flight.

III. Drinking Water Supply System Symmetrically distributed with the waste tanks are drinking water supply tanks, with a total capacity exceeding 2200 liters. These tanks supply drinking water to the entire airplane through independent pipes, including water for restrooms, kitchens, and passengers. The tanks are made of food-grade materials to ensure water safety; the piping system is equipped with multiple filtration devices to further purify the water. The drinking water system is completely isolated from the waste disposal system to prevent cross-contamination.

IV. Key Importance of System Operation This circulation system is crucial for the stable flight of the airplane. Firstly, the symmetrical layout of the waste tanks and water tanks balances the weight at the bottom of the airplane, preventing flight instability due to excessive weight on one side. Secondly, the sealed piping design reduces air resistance and lowers fuel consumption. Finally, the efficient processing capacity ensures that the system does not require frequent emptying or replenishment during long-haul flights, improving operational efficiency. For example, during transoceanic flights, the system can support continuous operation for more than 10 hours without mid-flight maintenance.

V. Environmental Protection and Safety Design The waste tanks are made of corrosion-resistant materials to prevent damage from waste; the water tanks are equipped with pressure regulators to prevent deformation due to high-altitude low pressure. All pipe interfaces are designed for quick disassembly, facilitating rapid replacement or cleaning by ground maintenance personnel. Additionally, the system is equipped with built-in leak detection devices that immediately alert the cockpit in case of abnormalities, ensuring flight safety.
