What Accounting Category Does a Mobile Toilet Belong To?
Mobile toilets are typically classified as fixed assets.

Meeting the Definition of Fixed Assets
According to Article 57 of the Implementation Regulations of the Enterprise Income Tax Law of the People's Republic of China, fixed assets refer to non-monetary assets held by enterprises for the production of products, provision of labor services, leasing, or business management, with a usage period exceeding 12 months. If a mobile toilet is expected to be used for more than 12 months, it meets the requirement for the usage period specified in this definition. Additionally, according to Articles 3 and 4 of the Accounting Standards for Business Enterprises No. 4 - Fixed Assets (2006 Edition), fixed assets must be held for the production of goods, provision of labor services, leasing, or business management, and have a useful life exceeding one accounting year. Mobile toilets are generally used for business management activities and typically have a useful life exceeding one accounting year, thus usually meeting the criteria for fixed assets.
Accounting Treatment Methods
In accounting treatment, when an enterprise purchases a mobile toilet, it should debit the 'Fixed Assets - Mobile Toilet' account and credit the 'Bank Deposit' or 'Accounts Payable' account to record the increase in assets and changes in funds. When depreciation is accrued in accordance with the enterprise's established depreciation policy, it should debit the 'Depreciation Expense' account and credit the 'Accumulated Depreciation' account to reflect the value loss of the asset during use. When expenses for repairs and maintenance of the mobile toilet occur, it should debit the 'Maintenance Expense' account and credit the 'Bank Deposit' or 'Raw Materials' account to record the relevant expense expenditures.
Handling Special Cases
However, there are also special cases. If the value of a mobile toilet is relatively low, for example, around 2000 yuan, considering its low value and minimal impact on the enterprise's financial position and operating results, it can be directly recorded under the 'Administrative Expenses - Other Expenses' account for simplified accounting procedures, rather than being accounted for as a fixed asset.
