Security Guard's False Report on Water from Restroom in Mobile Company

Admin October 09, 2026

In this incident, the security guard initially reported false information about water being taken from the restroom in a mobile company, later denied it and apologized, and the involved company also made a clarification.

Initial Report of the Incident

On March 20th, a security guard at a China Mobile outlet in Jinhua, Zhejiang reported that the bottled water in the lobby was tap water taken from the restroom and was served to people without disinfection. He also described that the water was smelly and green. If this report were true, it would seriously affect the health and rights of consumers, as tap water in the restroom may carry various pollution risks. The restroom environment is relatively complex, with various bacteria, viruses, and other microorganisms present. Moreover, tap water in the restroom pipes may be subject to secondary pollution. If served as drinking water without disinfection, it is highly likely to cause health problems such as intestinal diseases.

Subsequent Reversal of the Incident

On March 22nd, the security guard posted a video denying his previous statements, saying that due to emotional agitation, the content about tap water being taken from the restroom was incorrect, and he also mentioned that his work had resumed. This indicates that the security guard's initial report may have been false, and emotional factors may have affected his judgment and expression.

Response from the Involved Company

The involved company clearly stated that the information provided by the security guard was false. The bottled water in the outlet all came from legitimate sources, and there was no issue of taking tap water from the restroom. The company would deal seriously with the security guard who spread false information. From the company's perspective, maintaining its reputation and consumer trust is crucial. If the bottled water indeed came from legitimate sources, then the security guard's false report could have a negative impact on the company, including affecting consumer trust in the company and damaging its business image. Therefore, the company has reason to deal seriously with such rumor-mongering behavior to set the record straight and safeguard its legitimate rights and normal business operations.
