How Many Types of Container House Specifications Are There

Admin September 16, 2026

Container house specifications mainly fall into two categories: standard container specifications and non-standard customized specifications.

I. Standard Container Specifications
Container houses are transformed using standard containers as carriers. The common specifications are 20-foot and 40-foot types, with the following specific dimensions:

  1. 20-foot standard container (20GP): The external dimensions are 6058mm in length, 2438mm in width, and 2591mm in height. The internal clear dimensions are 5867mm in length, 2330mm in width, and 2350mm in height. This specification is suitable for scenarios such as single-person offices, dormitories, or small shops, offering compact space and independent functionality.
  2. 40-foot standard container (40GP): The external dimensions are 12192mm in length, 2438mm in width, and 2591mm in height. The internal clear dimensions are 11998mm in length, 2330mm in width, and 2350mm in height. Its internal space can be divided into multi-functional areas, such as multi-person dormitories or combined office and rest spaces.
  3. 40-foot high cube container (40HQ): The external height is increased to 2896mm, and the internal clear height reaches 2655mm. It is suitable for scenarios with special height requirements, such as exhibition halls, temporary housing, or spaces requiring the installation of ceiling-mounted equipment.

II. Non-Standard Customized Specifications
In addition to standard specifications, container houses can be customized according to actual needs, significantly enhancing flexibility:

  1. Length customization: Common non-standard lengths include 3m, 4m, 6m, 9m, 12m, etc. For example, combinations like 3m×6m, 3m×8m, and 3m×12m can meet the space requirements of projects of different scales.
  2. Width and height adjustments: The width can be selected from options such as 2.5m, 2.55m, 3m, and 4m, while the height can be selected from options like 2.6m, 2.7m, 2.8m, and 2.9m. By adjusting the dimensions, the internal space utilization rate can be optimized.
  3. Functional module combinations: Container houses can integrate functional units such as shower modules, toilet modules, and conference room modules, supporting free combination to adapt to complex scenarios. For example, by combining three 40-foot container houses, a composite space measuring 11.8m×6.75m×2.8m can be formed, with a usable area of up to 80 square meters.
  4. Special requirement customization: This includes adjustments to the positions of doors and windows, partition designs, exterior and interior decorations, etc., all of which can be customized according to project requirements.
