Zhejiang Prefabricated Assembled House

Admin September 18, 2026

Zhejiang prefabricated assembled house is a new type of house-building model promoted in rural areas, characterized by factory-prefabricated core components and rapid on-site assembly. Its core features and implementation are as follows:

I. Standardized Prefabrication and Rapid Assembly of Core Components
The core components of Zhejiang prefabricated assembled houses, such as walls and floor slabs, are prefabricated in factories through standardized production lines, ensuring dimensional accuracy and quality stability. Taking the model house in Hemudu Town, Yuyao City as an example, a two-story building covering an area of over 170 square meters has all its core components produced in the factory and then assembled on-site according to the design drawings. Each wall is embedded with 9 connection nodes, which are precisely spliced with high-strength bolts to form a stable main structure. This model significantly shortens the construction period. For instance, the main structure of Yuyao City's first "fully assembled" rural model house took only about 7 days to build, several times more efficient than traditional house-building methods.

II. Structural Types and Applicable Scenarios
Zhejiang prefabricated assembled houses mainly adopt two types of structures: light steel structures and concrete shear wall structures. Light steel structures, with steel as the framework, have advantages such as light weight, good earthquake resistance, and convenient construction, making them suitable for low-rise to multi-story rural house construction. Concrete shear wall structures achieve structural load-bearing through prefabricated concrete wall panels and are suitable for scenarios with high durability requirements. Both structural types combine factory prefabrication with on-site assembly, balancing efficiency and quality.

III. Policy Support and Demonstration Promotion
As one of the first pilot provinces for steel structure assembled residential buildings in China, Zhejiang Province has introduced a series of supportive policies, including financial subsidies and preferential housing loans, to reduce the cost of rural house construction for farmers. For example, multiple light steel structure rural housing demonstration communities have been built in Lin'an District and other places, promoting technology popularization through large-scale applications. In addition, the compilation of provincial technical guidelines and the advancement of the "Rural Housing Construction in Zhejiang" full life-cycle management system provide standardized references for the design, construction, acceptance, and post-maintenance of prefabricated assembled houses, ensuring full process standardized management.

IV. Technological Advantages and Social Value
Prefabricated assembled houses reduce on-site wet operations through factory production, lowering environmental pollution such as dust and noise, aligning with green building concepts. Meanwhile, standardized components and modular design enhance the earthquake resistance, thermal insulation, and other properties of houses, improving rural living conditions. Their rapid assembly characteristics also adapt to the current situation of rural labor shortages, providing a sustainable house-building solution for rural revitalization.
