How to Install Mobile Toilets in Zhejiang
Admin October 01, 2026
The installation of mobile toilets in Zhejiang requires following steps such as site assessment, sewage disposal method confirmation, main structure fixation, functional system connection, on-site debugging, and overall verification. The specific process is as follows:

I. Site Assessment and Foundation Preparation
Before installation, a comprehensive measurement of the designated area is required:
- Levelness Detection: Use a laser level or spirit level to measure the ground flatness, with an error controlled within ±5mm to avoid uneven stress on the toilet structure due to ground inclination.
- Soil Bearing Capacity Analysis: Evaluate the soil bearing capacity through geological surveys or simple load tests (such as the weighting method). If the bearing capacity is lower than the toilet's design load (usually ≥200kg/m²), a C20 concrete foundation should be poured, with a thickness adjusted according to load requirements (generally 15-30cm) to disperse pressure and prevent settlement.
- Underground Pipeline Investigation: Contact municipal departments to obtain underground pipeline distribution maps or use pipeline detectors to locate them, ensuring no conflicts with gas, water, or electricity pipelines in the installation area.
- Space Dimension Confirmation: Reserve at least a 1.5-meter-wide passage for maintenance and cleaning; for multi-stall combined toilets, plan the stall spacing according to design drawings (usually ≥1.2 meters).
II. Sewage Disposal Method Selection and Pipeline Pre-embedding
Determine the sewage disposal plan based on the toilet type:
- Sewage-free Pipeline Type (such as packing type, foam sealing type):
- Place the box directly on a prefabricated foundation or adjustable legs, securing it with M12-M16 bolts or welding to ensure no gaps at the connections.
- Adjust the leg height according to the ground slope to ensure the overall levelness of the toilet.
- Sewage Pipeline Type (such as connecting to municipal sewers or septic tanks):
- Pre-lay DN110-DN160 PVC or HDPE sewage pipes with a slope designed at 1%-2% (a drop of 1-2cm per meter) to ensure self-flowing sewage discharge.
- Seal pipe connections with special glue or hot-melt welding and conduct a closed-water test (24 hours of water injection without leakage).
III. Functional System Installation and Debugging
- Water Supply Pipeline:
- Install a freeze-proof water meter and pressure relief valve (pressure ≤0.4MPa) to prevent winter freezing or equipment damage from excessive water pressure.
- Use PPR hot-melt connections for pipes and wrap them with insulation cotton (thickness ≥2cm) for freeze protection.
- Electrical System:
- Use a distribution box with a waterproof rating of ≥IP54, with lines laid through metal pipes or PVC flame-retardant pipes and a grounding resistance of ≤4Ω.
- Install leakage protection switches (operating current ≤30mA) for lighting, exhaust fans, and other electrical appliances.
- Ventilation System:
- For natural ventilation types, reserve ventilation openings of ≥0.3m²; for mechanical ventilation types, install axial fans (air volume ≥500m³/h) with exhaust outlets at least 2.5 meters above the ground.
- Wastewater Treatment Unit (such as biochemical treatment type):
- Debug the filtration device separately, checking the normal operation of components such as aeration pumps and membrane modules. The effluent quality must comply with the "Urban Sewage Reuse - Urban Miscellaneous Water Quality" (GB/T 18920-2020) standard.
IV. On-site Debugging and Acceptance
- Structural Inspection: Check if the box connection bolts are tightened, and if components such as door locks and flush buttons move smoothly without jamming.
- Functional Testing:
- Flush Device: Continuously flush 10 times to check the stability of water volume and pressure.
- Lighting Fixtures: Test the switch response time and brightness (illuminance ≥150lx).
- Exhaust Fan: Run for 30 minutes to check the noise (≤55dB) and air exchange rate.
- Cleaning and Disinfection: Wipe contact surfaces such as toilets and sinks with a chlorine-containing disinfectant (effective chlorine concentration 500mg/L) and ventilate for more than 1 hour.
V. Adaptive Fine-tuning
Optimize details according to the usage environment:
- Install anti-slip strips (friction coefficient ≥0.6) on ramps and steps;
- Add L-shaped handrails (height 0.7-0.85 meters) for elderly stalls;
- Post warning signs such as "Slippery When Wet" and "No Smoking" (size ≥30cm×40cm) on the exterior.
By following these steps, the safe and stable operation of mobile toilets in Zhejiang can be ensured, meeting the usage needs of public places.
