Where to Install Lights in Mobile Toilets

Admin October 08, 2026

The lighting fixtures in mobile toilets are primarily installed in key areas such as the ceiling, side walls, above the sink, and on the partition door panels of toilet stalls, based on functional zones and lighting requirements. Details are as follows:

  1. Ceiling Lighting Layout The ceiling is the central area for installing lighting fixtures in mobile toilets. The number and position of fixtures should be adjusted according to the toilet's area and shape. For smaller toilets, one or two fixtures can be installed at the center of the ceiling to ensure uniform light coverage. For larger toilets, more fixtures should be added and arranged in a dispersed manner to avoid lighting dead zones. Ceiling fixtures typically use flat LED lights or downlights, which can meet basic lighting needs while also being energy-efficient and durable.

  2. Zone-Specific Lighting Fixtures

    • Urinal and Sink Areas: These areas have high humidity levels and require flat LED lights with good waterproof and moisture-proof properties. Fixtures can be mounted on the ceiling or side walls to ensure direct illumination of the usage areas, preventing fixture damage or reduced lighting effectiveness due to moisture.
    • Toilet Stall Area: To create a comfortable restroom environment, warm-toned downlights are typically chosen and installed at the center or both sides of the ceiling. Warm light reduces glare, enhancing the user experience, while the focused lighting effect of downlights prevents direct light from shining into the eyes.
    • Above the Sink: Mirror lights are needed to provide sufficient light for grooming. These lights can be mounted on both sides or the top of the mirror to ensure even facial illumination and avoid shadows affecting usage.
  3. Occupancy Indicator Lights To help users quickly identify the usage status of toilet stalls, mobile toilets are equipped with occupancy indicator lights. These lights have a wall-mounted design and can be installed prominently on the partition door panels of toilet stalls or horizontally above the door frames, typically at a height of 1.5-1.8 meters, within the human line of sight. The indicators usually feature a red-green dual-color design, with red indicating 'occupied' and green indicating 'unoccupied', providing clear and intuitive information.

During installation, it is essential to consider the type of lighting fixtures and functional requirements to ensure both lighting effectiveness and safety. For example, waterproof fixtures should have a high IP rating to prevent short circuits due to moisture; ceiling fixtures should be securely fastened to prevent falling; and occupancy indicator lights should be linked to the door locks to ensure accurate status display.
