What Types of Container Houses Are There?

Admin September 12, 2026

In a market economy, container houses have become popular across many sectors thanks to their special advantages. Professional container houses can be combined and assembled in different ways for large meeting rooms, hospitals, and hotels. In practice, however, container houses come in many types, with important differences in the details. Below is a brief overview of the main types.

  1. Dry-box type

Among quality container houses, the dry-box type uses a steel structure drawn from international-standard dry cargo containers. On top of the ordinary shell, inner and outer insulation layers and decorative panels complete the main structure. Floors are typically foamed cement boards, so structural strength is high and transport is convenient—making this type well suited as office space.

  1. Plug-in type

Among affordable container houses, the plug-in type usually takes a 20-foot standard container as the baseline. Basic water and electrical systems should be designed in advance, then expanded on site. If many parts are dismantled, waterproofing at the joints must be considered, so this type is better suited to areas with less rain or fewer natural disasters.

  1. Rotating type

Among reputable container houses, another common option is the rotating type. Side panels can swing open to expand the space to about two or three times the original size, but strength is weaker than the first two types, so installing water and power systems is more of a challenge.

The above briefly covers three common types of container houses. Note that container houses have a wide range of uses, so management should also be strengthened to achieve the most suitable results.
