Toilet Revolution Mobile Toilets
Mobile toilets are an important part of the toilet revolution, effectively addressing the issue of uneven distribution of public restrooms through technological innovation and diverse designs, and promoting environmental protection and resource recycling.

I. Development Background of Mobile Toilets
Mobile toilets emerged during the third public toilet revolution (from the 1990s to the end of the century) and gradually formed a technological system after 2012. Their development is closely related to China's 'toilet revolution' process: Since 2015, China has taken the lead in promoting the toilet revolution in the tourism industry and later expanded it to the entire country. As of 2024, the prevalence rate of rural sanitary toilets nationwide has exceeded 73%. As a supplementary means, mobile toilets have filled the coverage gaps of traditional public toilets through flexible deployment, playing a crucial role especially in tourist attractions, temporary construction sites, urban emergencies, and other scenarios.
II. Technological Routes and Core Breakthroughs
The technological routes of mobile toilets cover three major categories: waterless flushing, foam sealing, and water flushing, and have derived sub-categories such as antique-style, temporary construction site-type, and ship-type. Their core breakthroughs are reflected in two aspects:
- Environmental Protection Treatment Technologies:
- Eco-friendly Smart Toilets: By repeatedly collecting hand-washing water and adding special agents to make eco-friendly medicinal solutions, which are automatically sprayed in under low water pressure, with a single water consumption of less than 0.5 liters, achieving a water-saving efficiency over a hundred times that of ordinary suction-type toilets.
- Recirculating Water Flushing: Equipped with advanced biochemical reaction devices, using special bacterial biofilm filters to decompose fecal matter, and the treated water is filtered multiple times for reuse in flushing and spraying.
- 'Waterless' Series: Adopting microbial deep metabolism and separation processes, converting feces into harmless organic nitrogen sources or natural fertilizers without the need for a drainage system.
- Material and Structural Design:
The frame is welded from national standard steel, with the surface covered with anti-corrosion and fire-resistant materials such as color-coated steel plates or carved panels, with a service life of over 20 years. Internally equipped with independent toilet pit partition treatment systems, anti-slip floors, automatic flushing toilet bowls, and ventilation and lighting systems, complying with the GBLT18091-92 standard.
III. Application Scenarios and Industrial Chain
With their portable handling capabilities and environmental adaptability, mobile toilets are widely used in tourist attractions, temporary construction sites, urban emergencies, and other fields, effectively alleviating the social issue of uneven distribution of public restrooms. Their industrial chain covers more than 20 production enterprises in Liaoning, Shanghai, Hebei, and other places, providing diverse solutions such as prefabricated and eco-friendly water-saving types, promoting the standardization and large-scale development of the industry.
