Terraria Prefabricated Houses
Terraria offers a rich variety of prefabricated house designs, covering stylized, functional, special terrain, and creative shapes, among others. When building, they need to meet the system's basic requirements.

I. Stylized Houses
These houses are designed around specific themes or aesthetic styles. For example, Halloween-style houses may incorporate decorative elements like pumpkins and skeletons; modern skyscrapers are constructed with multiple layers using glass and metal materials; pumpkin cottages feature pumpkins as the main exterior wall material, paired with wooden frames; red-brick Chinese-style houses blend traditional eaves with brickwork; moon-shaped houses mimic the texture of the lunar surface, paired with curved roofs; and green plant houses are decorated with natural elements like vines and leaves on the exterior walls, creating an ecological atmosphere. These houses emphasize visual appeal and are suitable for players seeking personalization.
II. Functional Houses
- Prison Cells: Designed with minimal space (e.g., 3x3 interior), containing only necessary furniture (bed, workbench, chair). They save materials through stacked structures and concentrate NPC protection to avoid monster attacks.
- One-Way Wall Structures: Utilize game mechanics to create an effect where "players can attack through walls, but monsters cannot enter" through specific block arrangements, often used in monster farms or safe zones.
- Monster Trap Houses: Design enclosed spaces (e.g., trapdoor and hatch combinations) that, in conjunction with monster spawn conditions, trap monsters in fixed areas, allowing players to farm monsters or collect loot without taking damage.
- Simple Respawn Points: Require only a bed and minimal space (no need for a complete house structure) to set a respawn point, suitable for quick exploration.
- Magic Mirror Two-Point Teleportation Structures: Establish a teleportation channel between the respawn point and the world's spawn point through the interaction of doors and sand, improving movement efficiency.
III. Special Terrain Houses
Designed in conjunction with the game's natural environment, such as beach houses with part of the structure submerged in water and part on the beach; cliff-side houses utilizing terrain drops to construct multi-level observation decks; and desert cottages using sandstone materials paired with cactus decorations to adapt to the desert environment. These houses need to consider the impact of terrain on structural stability, such as the need for waterproof materials for underwater sections.
IV. Creative Shape Houses
Break away from traditional architectural forms, such as knife-shaped houses with the blade as the roof and the handle as the entrance; excavator-shaped houses simulating mechanical appearances with gear decorations; snowflake-shaped houses using hexagonal structures paired with ice crystal materials; castle types including grand castles and brown castles with red pools, emphasizing grandeur; skyscrapers achieving height breakthroughs through multiple layers; and mud houses using mud blocks as the main material paired with thatched roofs to create a primitive style.
Basic Building Requirements
All houses must meet the following:
- Structural Integrity: Include walls, floors, and ceilings; prohibit the use of dirt walls or underground wall bricks.
- Furniture Configuration: At least one table or workbench, one chair, one wooden door or ladder, and one light source (e.g., torch, chandelier).
- Space Requirements: The interior clear space must be at least 4x8 or 5x7 (excluding walls) to ensure sufficient activity area for NPCs.
