Material of Stainless Steel Mobile Toilet

Admin October 13, 2026

Stainless steel mobile toilets mainly use 304 stainless steel material. As a widely used austenitic stainless steel, 304 stainless steel contains 18% chromium and 8% nickel in its chemical composition. By forming a dense chromium oxide passivation film, it endows the material with unique performance advantages, which are manifested as follows:

1. Weather Resistance and Environmental Adaptability
The passivation film of 304 stainless steel can effectively block rainwater, ultraviolet rays, and corrosive substances in the air, maintaining structural stability within a wide temperature range from -40℃ to 800℃. Its weather resistance indicators meet the ISO 9227 standard, and it can withstand more than 1000 hours of salt spray testing without red rust formation, making it particularly suitable for use in coastal or high-humidity areas. After sandblasting and spraying with fluorocarbon paint, its resistance to ultraviolet rays can be further enhanced, extending its outdoor service life to over 20 years.

2. Structural Strength and Lightweight Design
Using 1.2-2mm thick stainless steel plates, formed through laser cutting and argon arc welding processes, it ensures that the overall structure can withstand a wind load of 0.6kN/m² and a concentrated load of 1.5kN, while reducing the unit weight by more than 60% compared to traditional brick-and-mortar structures. The modular design, combined with high-strength bolt connections, enables the toilet to be lifted as a whole, meeting the engineering needs of frequent relocation.

3. Chemical Corrosion Resistance
In acid-base environments with a pH of 4-10, the passivation film on the surface of 304 stainless steel can automatically repair itself. Measured corrosion rates in a 5% NaCl solution are ≤0.002mm/year. For toilet scenarios that may come into contact with chlorine-containing disinfectants (such as 84 disinfectant), its pitting resistance equivalent number (PREN) value reaches over 19, effectively resisting local corrosion caused by chloride ions.

4. Surface Treatment Technology
In addition to basic wire drawing treatment, the use of a PVDF (polyvinylidene fluoride) coating can form a 0.08-0.12mm protective layer. This coating has a hardness of 3H and meets the 0-level requirement of the ASTM D3359 standard for adhesion. It can maintain its color and prevent peeling for more than 5 years under frequent cleaning scenarios. For special needs, a nano self-cleaning coating can also be selected, making the surface contact angle >150° and achieving rainwater self-cleaning functionality.

This material has passed the GB/T 3280-2015 standard certification for "Stainless Steel Cold-Rolled Sheets and Strips", with its mechanical properties, chemical composition, and corrosion resistance indicators all superior to those of ordinary carbon steel, making it the mainstream choice in the field of mobile toilets.
