Specifications of Prefabricated Panels for Building Construction

Admin September 19, 2026

The specifications of prefabricated panels for building construction mainly include five aspects: span, width, thickness, length modulus, and special specifications.

Span: The span of prefabricated panels for residential use is an important parameter for measuring their horizontal load-bearing capacity. Typically, the maximum span of standard prefabricated panels is 4.2 meters, which can meet the needs of floor or roof panels in most ordinary residential buildings. If a span exceeding 4.2 meters is required in a project, custom production must be carried out according to specific design requirements to ensure structural safety and stability.

Width: The width of prefabricated panels directly affects their laying efficiency and space utilization. The mainstream specifications are primarily 500mm and 600mm, which can adapt to most building moduli and facilitate construction alignment. Additionally, some four-hole panels have a width of 400mm, suitable for specific structures or space-constrained scenarios, but their application range is relatively small.

Thickness: Thickness is a key factor determining the load-bearing capacity and sound insulation performance of prefabricated panels. Common thicknesses are 120mm and 150mm, with 120mm thickness mostly used for floor panels in ordinary residential buildings and 150mm thickness suitable for industrial buildings or commercial spaces requiring higher load-bearing capacity. Although 100mm-thick prefabricated panels are less commonly used, they can meet the needs of lightweight structures through customization.

Length Modulus: The length of prefabricated panels usually increases in increments of 300mm, forming a standardized series including 3000mm, 3300mm, 3600mm, 3900mm, and 4200mm. Among them, 4200mm is the maximum limit, and lengths exceeding this require customization. This modular design facilitates construction layout, reduces material waste, and improves production efficiency.

Special Specifications: In actual projects, some projects may adopt non-standard length prefabricated panels, such as 3800mm and 4000mm, due to architectural layout or functional requirements. Such specifications need to be communicated with the manufacturer in advance for customization to ensure dimensional accuracy and structural performance meet design requirements. During the customization process, special attention should be paid to the feasibility of transportation and installation to avoid construction difficulties caused by abnormal dimensions.
