Prefabricated Panel Houses in Jiaxing City
There are relevant policy measures in Jiaxing City regarding the safety management of rural housing construction and the self-initiated renovation of old residential communities for prefabricated panel houses.

In terms of safety management for rural housing construction, Jiaxing City has launched the "insurance + service" initiative for key rural houses and established a tiered and categorized management system for rural housing. The key houses here are first identified and reported by professional agencies commissioned by insurance companies, and then reviewed by township governments. They mainly include commercial houses and prefabricated panel houses built more than 30 years ago. Currently, Nanhu District, Haiyan County, and Haining City have implemented this measure, with over 19,000 insured houses. Pinghu City and the Port Area are in the tender preparation stage. This series of efforts helps to promptly identify potential safety hazards in prefabricated panel houses, provides safeguards for housing safety through a combination of insurance and services, reduces losses to residents caused by housing safety issues, and enhances residents' sense of security in their living environment.
Regarding the self-initiated renovation of old residential communities, in the "Guidelines for the Self-Initiated Renovation of Old Residential Communities (Trial)" issued by Haining City, policies give priority to two types of buildings, with prefabricated panel buildings being one of the key encouraged categories. One type includes buildings identified as C or D-grade dilapidated houses with prominent structural safety hazards. Due to factors such as their construction age, prefabricated panel buildings may have issues like structural aging, fitting this category. The other type consists of old residential communities built before 2000 that have inadequate functionality and severely lacking supporting facilities, and where residents have a strong desire for renovation. For old residential communities with eligible prefabricated panel houses, self-initiated renovation can improve the functionality of the houses, enhance supporting facilities, elevate residents' living quality, and meet residents' needs for a better life.
