In the public toilet renovation project in Sijing Town, Songjiang, some toilets adopt a prefabricated design, where most components are prefabricated in factories and assembled on-site within 60 days after transportation. This design model shortens the on-site construction period, reduces the impact of construction on the surrounding environment, and improves component quality and installation accuracy through standardized factory production, ensuring the stability and durability of the toilet structure.

Functional Zoning and Barrier-Free Facilities
The newly renovated toilets have clear internal functional zoning, including men's restrooms, women's restrooms, universal restrooms, management rooms, and corridors. Among them, the universal restroom, as the core area of barrier-free facilities, is equipped with children's toilets, baby changing tables, and baby seats to meet the needs of families, people with disabilities, and special groups, reflecting the humanized design concept of public facilities.

Application of Intelligent Equipment
Intelligent technologies are widely used in the toilets, including intelligent squatting toilet sensors, intelligent sitting toilet sensors, and sensor faucets, which achieve automatic flushing and water output through infrared or pressure sensing, reducing the risk of contact transmission and saving water resources. The toilet stall display screens can show the usage status in real-time, preventing users from searching blindly; the scan-to-get-paper machines provide toilet paper through QR code scanning, which is convenient and avoids waste.

Expansion of Convenience Service Facilities
In addition to basic functions, newly built toilets in the ancient town also have added convenience facilities such as luggage storage, vending machines, lockers, hot and cold direct drinking water, shared umbrella machines, and power banks. These facilities cover the diverse needs of tourists. For example, direct drinking water provides a healthy drinking option, shared umbrellas deal with sudden weather changes, and power banks solve the battery life problem of electronic devices, further enhancing the service attributes of the toilets.

Renovation Project Progress
According to the plan, the renovation projects of five toilets in Sijing Town were completed and put into use in March 2022.
