Sanheyuan Prefabricated House

Admin September 19, 2026

The Sanheyuan prefabricated house is a building form that combines traditional Sanheyuan with modern prefabrication technology. Currently, it mostly adopts a reinforced concrete frame structure, and some designs embody modular and standardized concepts, but the overall prefabrication system has not yet been fully popularized.

Structural Features: Reinforced Concrete Frame Replacing Traditional Prefabricated Panels

Traditional Sanheyuan prefabricated houses mostly relied on the splicing of prefabricated panels, which had insufficient earthquake and fire resistance. In a modern case, a project in Zhangjiajie, Hunan, adopted a reinforced concrete frame structure, replacing the previous prefabricated panel houses. This structure forms an overall frame through cast-in-place or prefabricated concrete components (such as beams, columns, and floor slabs), significantly improving the building's earthquake resistance (which can meet local seismic fortification requirements) and durability (with a designed service life usually exceeding 50 years). At the same time, concrete materials themselves have Class A fire resistance, which can effectively delay the spread of fire and comply with modern building safety standards.

Cost and Functionality: A Single-Story Case Costs Around 400,000 Yuan, with Diverse Functional Areas

Taking the Zhangjiajie, Hunan project as an example, the main body of its single-story Sanheyuan adopts a reinforced concrete structure, with a total cost of around 400,000 yuan. This case includes five bedroom suites and functional areas such as a home theater, achieving a fusion of living and entertainment functions through reasonable layout. Cost differences are mainly influenced by building area, material selection (such as concrete strength grades and decorative materials), and functional complexity. For example, adding a second story or using high-end decorative materials will significantly increase costs, while simplifying functional areas or using ordinary building materials may reduce costs.

Prefabrication Concept: Modular Layout and Standardized Component Application

Some modern Sanheyuan designs indirectly embody the concept of prefabrication through modular layouts (such as symmetrical enclosed courtyards) and the application of standardized components. Modular layouts divide the building into independent functional modules (such as bedroom modules and living room modules), facilitating construction and later renovation; standardized components (such as prefabricated doors, windows, and stairs) shorten the construction period and reduce on-site wet work through factory production and on-site assembly. However, a complete Sanheyuan prefabricated house system has not yet been formed, and most projects still rely mainly on on-site pouring, with a limited application range of prefabricated components.

Development Status: The Overall Prefabrication System Has Not Yet Been Fully Popularized

Although some designs attempt to introduce the concept of prefabrication, Sanheyuan prefabricated houses have not yet formed mature standardized products. This may be related to the unique cultural attributes of Sanheyuan (such as regionality and family nature) and architectural forms (such as sloped roofs and courtyards), resulting in low versatility and adaptability of prefabricated components. In the future, with the progress of building industrialization technology, Sanheyuan prefabricated houses are expected to further achieve structural standardization, component factory production, and construction assembly while retaining traditional characteristics.
