Adding Partitions to Rural Prefabricated Slab Houses
When adding partitions to rural prefabricated slab houses, it is necessary to follow construction specifications, pay attention to special considerations, and complete the approval process. Details are as follows:

Construction Steps
- Wall Marking: Clearly determine the position of the partition wall according to the design drawings. Accurately snap lines on the floor and extend them to the ceiling and side walls to provide an accurate reference for subsequent construction.
- Wall Cleaning: Carefully clean the dust on the wall to ensure it is dry and flat. For stubborn stains, avoid scraping with sharp objects to prevent wall damage. Then, lay wall pads to protect the wall.
- Installing Studs: Install floor, ceiling, and vertical studs in sequence. Ensure that the edges of the studs align precisely with the snapped lines and that the ends are firmly installed. Keep the vertical studs perpendicular and strictly adhere to the spacing requirements specified in the design to provide stable structural support for the partition.
- Connecting Door and Window Frames to Studs: When fixing door and window frames, carefully adjust their verticality, levelness, and straightness. Use wooden blocks for positioning if necessary. First, fix the top frame, then the side frames. Properly fill the gaps between the window frames and the openings to ensure good sealing and then reliably connect them to the studs.
- Installing Gypsum Boards: Install gypsum boards in a vertical arrangement and firmly fix them to the studs with screws. After installation, clean the surface dust and seal the cracks with three layers of foam to prevent cracking and other issues.
- Wall Decoration: Choose appropriate paint colors according to the overall decoration style of the house. For example, light colors can be used for the ceiling of the room, and dark colors for the partition wall; cool colors for well-lit rooms and light warm colors for poorly lit rooms to create a comfortable living environment.
Special Considerations
- Drilling Issues: The prefabricated slabs are hollow in the middle. When drilling, be sure to avoid the gaps. If accidentally drilling into the thinnest part, re-drill at a different position or choose to drill in the middle of two prefabricated slabs to avoid damaging the slab structure.
- Fixing Methods: Use aircraft expansion bolts instead of ordinary expansion bolts to enhance the fixing effect. You can also lay wooden strips first, then 9-mm boards, and finally gypsum boards, or use double-layer gypsum boards to improve the stability and durability of the partition.
Approval Process
For the renovation and addition of partitions to rural self-built houses, an application must first be submitted to the village committee. After review, approval, and signature, apply to the village and town planning and construction management office of the township or town government. Relevant personnel will conduct on-site inspections and verifications. After approval, obtain and fill out a house construction application form, which will be signed and stamped by the township construction office and the township's competent leader. Finally, submit it to the county planning and construction bureau (county administrative service center) for approval and obtain a property certificate before proceeding with the renovation.
