Qingyuan Construction Site Portable Toilet Installation

Admin October 02, 2026

The installation of portable toilets at construction sites in Qingyuan requires comprehensive consideration from site selection, foundation treatment, transportation and placement, to ensure safety, practicality, and environmental protection.

1. Site Selection Assessment
Prioritize areas with high usage frequency, such as near the entrances and exits of living or work areas, while avoiding open-flame work areas, material storage areas, and power distribution facilities to reduce safety hazards. The installation site should be flat and slightly higher than the surrounding ground to prevent rainwater from flowing back. If it is near a river or water source, ensure sufficient buffer distance between the toilet and the water source protection area.

2. Foundation Treatment
Take different measures according to the ground type: For muddy ground, compact the soil and lay a 10-15 cm gravel bedding layer; for soft soil or backfilled areas, pour a concrete foundation or set up prefabricated cement piers for reinforcement; for hardened ground (such as concrete floors), check the flatness. During foundation treatment, reserve positions for septic tanks or sewage outlets to ensure smooth subsequent pipeline connections.

3. Transportation and Placement
Use professional vehicles to secure the toilet box during transportation to prevent collisions; use lifting straps instead of steel wires for hoisting to avoid scratching the outer shell. When placing, use a level to check the horizontalness of the box and adjust the pads in a timely manner if tilting is found; the door should face away from the prevailing wind direction and avoid major traffic channels. Unified command is required for collaborative work by multiple people to ensure stable placement.

4. Pipeline Connection
Flush toilets need to be connected to water supply and drainage pipelines: Select PPR or PE materials for the water supply pipes, bury them below the frost line or take insulation measures; maintain a slope of no less than 2% for the drainage pipes to ensure that sewage flows into the septic tank. All joints should be tightly sealed and regularly checked for leaks. For non-flush toilets, ensure that the fecal collection container is well-sealed for easy cleaning and replacement.

5. Ventilation and Lighting
Prioritize natural ventilation positions and install exhaust fans or ventilation ducts if necessary, with the exhaust outlet facing areas with fewer people. If the toilet has no built-in lighting, install it in a well-lit place; for nighttime use, connect it to a waterproof and explosion-proof temporary lighting circuit, which should be protected by pipes and firmly fixed.

6. Lightning Protection and Grounding
In areas with frequent thunderstorms or open construction sites, metal-structured toilets should be equipped with independent lightning rods, with the protection range covering the toilet area; the metal frame should be grounded, with a grounding resistance of no more than 10 ohms to prevent static electricity or electric leakage risks.

7. Signage and Safety
After installation, hang clear signs, including gender differentiation and usage precautions; set up warning posts or reflective stickers near vehicle traffic areas and install warning lights at night to enhance safety.

8. Customized Special Considerations
According to the characteristics of the mountainous areas in Qingyuan, prioritize non-flush packaged toilets to reduce dependence on water and electricity; select corrosion-resistant stainless steel or fiberglass for the materials to extend the service life. Use modular design for transportation and choose vehicles with a capacity of less than 3 tons to adapt to mountain roads; perform foundation hardening treatment during installation to avoid settlement, and customize anti-slip pedals for sites with large slopes. If near residential areas, adopt a low-noise flushing system to control odor diffusion.
