Prefabricated Wooden House Construction Guide
Admin September 18, 2026
The construction of prefabricated wooden houses requires selecting the appropriate process based on the specific type. The construction steps for common cases are as follows:

I. Hexagonal Quick-Assembly Wooden House (Fully Prefabricated Modular Design)
- Foundation Construction: Place the prefabricated steel frame directly on a flat ground or stone piers to ensure structural stability. As the skeleton of the house, the steel frame must have its connection points checked for firmness to prevent displacement during subsequent module installation.
- Floor Installation: Quickly assemble the prefabricated floor modules and use screws to reinforce them at the junctions between the steel frame and the floor, forming a horizontal support surface. Pay attention to the gap treatment at the module joints to prevent water accumulation or insect infestation.
- Wall Assembly: Install the prefabricated wall modules in sequence according to the instructions, usually using mortise-and-tenon or bolt connections. After wall installation, add corner guards to protect the module edges and enhance structural strength.
- Roof and Waterproofing: When installing the roof modules, focus on treating the waterproof layer at the lap joints, such as laying waterproof membranes or applying waterproof coatings, to prevent rainwater penetration. The roof slope design must meet drainage requirements.
- Doors, Windows, and Decoration: Finally, install the prefabricated doors and windows, adjust their opening and closing smoothness, and then carry out paint work to protect the wood surface and enhance aesthetics.
II. South Korean Rural Prefabricated House (Including Wooden and Concrete Hybrid Structure)
- Foundation Treatment: Excavate a foundation pit 60 centimeters deep, lay white plastic sheeting for moisture prevention, and pour a non-reinforced concrete垫层 (sub-base). This step provides a stable foundation for the house and requires ensuring that the concrete flatness error is less than 5 millimeters.
- Sill Plate and Prefabricated Pile Installation: Use a drill to bore holes in the foundation, fix the sill plates with expansion screws, and then use a mobile crane to lift and install 5-ton prefabricated foundation piles, forming a vertical support system.
- Beam Splicing and Sealing: Horizontally splice the prefabricated beams, fix them with nuts, and then fill the gaps with expanding foam to prevent cold bridge effects; seal the nut fixation points with cement to enhance structural durability.
- Stair and Floor Installation: Lift and install the prefabricated stair modules (similar to jigsaw puzzle assembly), lay 5-centimeter-thick prefabricated floor slabs, and finally grout all component gaps to ensure overall sealing.
Key Precautions:
- Modular houses must be operated strictly according to the instructions, and unauthorized modifications to the connection methods should be avoided.
- The wooden parts require regular anti-corrosion treatment, and the concrete parts need to be cured for more than 28 days to reach the design strength.
- Before construction, confirm local building codes, and some structures (such as roof loads) require professional calculations.
