Prefabricated Trough-shaped Slab House Design Drawing
Currently, no directly available design drawings for prefabricated trough-shaped slab houses have been found, but information on the characteristics and design points of prefabricated trough-shaped slabs can be provided for reference.

Basic Structure of Prefabricated Trough-shaped Slabs
Prefabricated trough-shaped slabs are beam-slab composite members. Longitudinal ribs are set on both sides of the solid slab, acting as small beams to bear the load of the slab. This structural form gives it advantages in floor systems, such as material savings and ease of hole creation, although its sound insulation performance is relatively poor.
Applicable Places
In floor systems, they are commonly used in kitchens, bathrooms, warehouses, and other places with low sound insulation requirements. In roof systems, they can be used for the roofs of industrial and civil buildings, such as trough-shaped slab composite roofs. Due to their simple technology, convenient construction, and low cost, they are suitable for rural buildings.
Types and Specifications
There are two types of trough-shaped slabs: prestressed and non-prestressed. The slab width ranges from 500 to 1200 mm. The span length of non-prestressed trough-shaped slabs is usually 3 to 6 m, the rib height is 120 to 240 mm, and the slab thickness is only 30 mm.
Placement Methods and Treatments
When the trough-shaped slab is placed upright (ribs facing down), the bottom of the slab is uneven; if placed upside down (ribs facing up), structural treatments are required on the slab to make it flat. At the same time, lightweight materials can be filled in the troughs to provide thermal insulation and sound insulation.
Design Considerations
- Structural Safety: Taking Guangming Building No. 17 as an example, before renovation, the floor slab was a trough-shaped slab with poor load-bearing performance and no seismic fortification. This indicates that when designing houses using prefabricated trough-shaped slabs, full consideration should be given to their load-bearing performance. The type, specifications, and layout of the trough-shaped slabs should be reasonably determined according to the building's function and scale to ensure structural safety. Meanwhile, for areas with seismic requirements, seismic fortification design should be carried out in accordance with relevant specifications.
- Sound Insulation Treatment: Due to the poor sound insulation performance of trough-shaped slabs, when used in rooms with certain sound insulation requirements, in addition to filling lightweight materials in the troughs, sound insulation materials such as sound insulation mats can also be laid on the surface of the floor slab to improve sound insulation performance.
