Moshan Town Portable Toilet

Admin September 21, 2026

Currently, no direct detailed information about portable toilets in Moshan Town has been found. However, during the disaster period, Moxi Town in Luding County installed a large number of portable toilets to solve the problem of 'difficulty in finding toilets' for the public, and this relevant experience can provide a reference for other regions.

Installation Background and Scale of Portable Toilets in Moxi Town

In September 2022, Moxi Town in Luding County was affected by an earthquake, resulting in damage to some infrastructure and posing challenges to the sanitary conditions at temporary resettlement sites for the affected people. To address this issue, the local government, in collaboration with caring enterprises, installed 58 portable toilets at seven concentrated resettlement sites for the affected people on September 10th. These toilets were donated by the enterprises, and the installation was completed by the staff over three days, covering the core areas of the temporary resettlement sites and effectively alleviating the toilet needs of the affected people.

Subsequent Planning and Functional Expansion of Portable Toilets

In addition to the 58 portable toilets already installed, Moxi Town also plans to further add approximately 70 portable toilets at multiple concentrated resettlement sites and build 70 portable shower rooms as supporting facilities. This plan aims to improve the sanitary facility system at the temporary resettlement sites, not only solving the problem of 'difficulty in finding toilets' but also enhancing the quality of life of the people through the provision of shower rooms and reducing health risks that may arise from inadequate sanitary conditions.

Technical Characteristics and Applicability of Portable Toilets

The portable toilets used in Moxi Town usually adopt a modular design and have characteristics such as rapid deployment, environmental protection and energy conservation, and easy maintenance. For example, some toilets may be equipped with septic tanks or biodegradation technology to reduce the impact of sewage discharge on the environment; some use solar power to reduce energy consumption. These facilities are particularly suitable for scenarios such as disaster emergency response, outdoor activities, and temporary construction sites, and can flexibly adapt to different environmental requirements.

Reference Significance for Other Regions

The case of Moxi Town shows that portable toilets have significant advantages in responding to emergencies or shortages of infrastructure. Their characteristics of rapid installation, diverse functions, and convenient management can provide a reference for other regions (including Moshan Town if it faces similar needs in the future). In the future, if Moshan Town needs to introduce portable toilets, it can scientifically plan the quantity and layout based on factors such as the local population size, distribution of resettlement sites, and usage cycle, and give priority to selecting environmentally friendly and low-maintenance-cost equipment.
