Mobile Toilets on Buses

Admin October 12, 2026

Currently, mobile toilets are not commonly installed directly on buses, but there are coach-type mobile toilets on vehicles that can meet similar needs. Meanwhile, relevant departments have taken various measures to address the difficulty of bus drivers finding restrooms.

Features of Coach-Type Mobile Toilets on Vehicles

  • Comprehensive Functions: The coach-type mobile toilet on the vehicle includes 4 independent restrooms, 1 third restroom, and 1 independent men's urinal, enabling it to meet the restroom needs of multiple people simultaneously. Moreover, it does not require external water and electricity connections, providing convenience for use in different scenarios and facilitating on-site cleaning to ensure the hygiene of the restrooms.
  • Human-Centered Design: An electric wheelchair lift operated by a fully electronic control system is installed on the right side of the vehicle. This design fully takes into account the travel needs of wheelchair users, making it convenient for them to get on and off the vehicle to use the restrooms. The third restroom is equipped with air conditioning, handrails, dedicated USB charging ports, and other facilities, offering a comfortable environment and convenient charging conditions for users. Additionally, a foldable baby care table is specially provided for parents, demonstrating care for special groups.
  • High Efficiency and Convenience: The coach-type mobile toilet on the vehicle can be quickly dispatched and precisely positioned. Only one driver is needed for normal operation during use. This effectively reduces labor and time costs, improves usage efficiency, and holds significant advantages in responding to emergencies or temporary needs.

Other Measures to Address the Difficulty of Bus Drivers Finding Restrooms

To tackle the issue of bus drivers having difficulty finding restrooms, relevant departments have implemented a series of measures. They have formulated and issued the Implementation Plan for Increasing the Quantity and Improving the Quality of Urban Public Restrooms (2021 - 2022), focusing on areas with high pedestrian traffic such as bus stops and park squares, as well as areas where the public urgently needs restrooms. They plan to add new public restrooms, providing bus drivers with more restroom options. They actively encourage social units to open their restrooms to bus drivers, making full use of social resources to solve the restroom problem for drivers. They also strengthen the planning and layout of public restrooms around bus stops, optimizing the distribution of public restrooms from a long-term perspective and improving the convenience for bus drivers to find restrooms.
