Replacement of Squat Toilet in Mobile Toilet
Whether the replacement of a squat toilet in a mobile toilet requires breaking the floor tiles depends on the installation method. If the squat pit is installed after laying the floor tiles and fixed with adhesive, there is no need to break the floor tiles; if the pit is installed first and then the floor tiles are laid, the floor tiles will need to be broken for removal.

1. Determine the Drainage Method Before Replacement
The drainage methods in bathrooms are divided into same-floor drainage and lower-floor drainage, which can be judged by observing the ceiling: if you can see the sewage pipes of your upstairs neighbors, it is lower-floor drainage; otherwise, it is same-floor drainage. Different drainage methods correspond to different replacement steps.
2. Replacement Steps for Bathrooms with Lower-Floor Drainage
- Preliminary Preparation: Turn off the water supply, remove the water tank, and seal the sewage outlet to prevent sewage overflow.
- Break the Tiles: Carefully break the tiles in the area where the squat toilet needs to be replaced, avoiding damage to the water supply pipes and the waterproof layer. If the waterproof layer is damaged, reapply waterproof material and conduct a 7-day closed-water test to ensure no leakage.
- Install the New Squat Toilet: Determine the installation direction and position, insert the sewage outlet into the PVC110 pipe sewage outlet, adjust the level with red bricks to ensure stability.
- Subsequent Treatment: After installing the water tank, temporarily seal the upper end of the 40 elbow pipe to prevent dust from entering; re-lay the floor tiles and wait for them to harden before use.
3. Replacement Steps for Bathrooms with Same-Floor Drainage
- Clean the Backfill Layer: If the bathroom style needs to be adjusted, clean part of the backfill layer to make space for the installation of the new squat toilet.
- Waterproof Treatment: When re-backfilling after replacement, it is necessary to reapply the waterproof layer and conduct a closed-water test to ensure the waterproofing effect.
4. Installation Precautions
- Handle with Care: Squat toilets are mostly made of ceramic materials and are fragile. Avoid using excessive force during installation. It is recommended to place a cloth underneath to reduce friction.
- Drill Holes and Apply Glue: The glue is usually solid and needs to be heated and melted before use. When applying the glue, avoid dripping it onto the tile surface to affect aesthetics.
- Level Adjustment: Use red bricks or special tools to adjust the level of the squat toilet to ensure that the sewage outlet is aligned with the pipe and avoid water leakage.
The replacement of a squat toilet should be carried out according to the drainage method and installation method, strictly following the steps and paying attention to waterproofing and detail handling to ensure safety and durability in use.
