Mobile Toilet Renovation

Admin September 20, 2026

There are several methods for renovating mobile toilet bowls, and you can choose the appropriate one based on actual needs and bathroom conditions:

1. Short-distance adjustment using a toilet offset connector This method is suitable for bathrooms with a sunken box and when the toilet needs to be moved a short distance. The specific steps are as follows: First, cut off the tiles at the original toilet position, remove the mortar layer down to the waterproof layer, and ensure that the installation position of the offset connector is flat. After placing the offset connector at the target position, use leak-stopping powder to redo the waterproof layer and fill and level the surface to ensure there is no risk of leakage. The offset connector can solve the problem of misalignment between the toilet and the drain, but the moving distance generally does not exceed 30 centimeters; otherwise, it may lead to poor drainage or blockage. After construction, a drainage test should be carried out to confirm that the water flows smoothly and there is no leakage.

2. Making a mobile toilet using a water storage tank and a pallet If you need to completely transform it into a mobile structure, you can use a combination of a water storage tank and a pallet. The steps include: Fixing universal wheels at the four corners of the bottom of the pallet for easy overall movement; placing the water storage tank and cutting it to form an open tank, and then stacking and fixing two tanks to increase the water storage capacity; cutting out a doorway, drilling holes in the internal floor to insert elbows and water pipes, and sealing the joints with sealant; installing facilities such as a toilet, faucet, washbasin, and showerhead to ensure that the water supply and drainage systems operate independently; finally, installing the door and checking the stability of all components. This solution is suitable for scenarios without a fixed drainage pipe, but the water storage tank needs to be cleaned regularly and its tightness maintained to avoid odors or water leakage.

3. General methods for moving a toilet In addition to the offset connector, the position of the toilet can also be adjusted in the following ways:

  • Raising the floor and re-laying pipes: Raise the bathroom floor by about 10-15 centimeters and re-lay the drainage pipes to the target position. Pay attention to the pipe slope (usually 2%-3%) to ensure that sewage can drain naturally. At the same time, redo the waterproof layer and tile the floor to restore it.
  • Changing to a wall-mounted toilet: Move the drain to the wall and connect the toilet to a hidden cistern and a horizontal pipe to reduce the floor space occupied. This method requires damaging the wall tiles, and the wall needs to be repaired after construction to ensure the tightness of the cistern.
  • Drilling a hole in the floor slab again: If conditions permit, you can directly drill a hole in the floor slab and re-lay the drainage pipe to the lower floor. This solution requires coordinating with the residents downstairs and obtaining permission from the property management, and after construction, the hole must be strictly sealed and the waterproofing redone to avoid leakage risks.

Renovation precautions: Regardless of the method used, it is necessary to ensure that the slope of the drainage pipes is reasonable, the sealing is tight, and the waterproof layer is redone to prevent leakage. It is recommended to consult professionals before construction and choose the optimal solution based on the bathroom structure.
