Mobile Toilet Plan for Large Events
Admin October 11, 2026
The mobile toilet plan for large events should be comprehensively designed from four aspects: preliminary planning, scenario-based layout, supporting services and management, and cost and budget optimization, to ensure that it meets event needs and enhances the experience.

I. Preliminary Planning
- Crowd Estimation and Allocation Standards: Based on the venue type (stadium, square, or exhibition) and audience size, allocate 1-2 mobile toilets (including male and female) per 100 people, with a 20% buffer. For exhibitions, refine the standards: food exhibitions should have 80-120 people per toilet stall, while technology exhibitions should have 120-150 people per stall.
- Event Duration and Cycle: For single-day events, focus on peak times (e.g., before opening and after closing); for multi-day events, add backup restrooms to prevent equipment failure or overuse.
- Gender Ratio Differences: Since women tend to use restrooms longer, it is recommended to allocate toilet stalls at a ratio of 2 males to 3 females, adjusting to 1 male to 2 females for exhibitions with a high proportion of female attendees.
II. Scenario-Based Layout Strategies
- Entrance/Security Check Area: Set up 1-2 temporary male and female toilets each, along with mobile handwashing stations and canopies, to prevent a concentrated influx of attendees into the main venue.
- Audience Seating Area: Place toilet clusters every 50-100 meters, using barrier-free models to meet special needs; for exhibitions, distribute them evenly across exhibition areas, increasing the number in high-traffic areas such as entrances/exits and dining areas, with a 10%-20% buffer.
- Logistics and Staff Area: Set up dedicated toilets behind the stage and near dressing rooms, and install simple models in parking lots to prevent non-attendees from entering the audience area.
- Exit and Evacuation Routes: Temporarily deploy 3-5 additional toilets at each exit during closing, along with lighting equipment, to ensure nighttime safety.
III. Supporting Services and Management
- Cleaning and Maintenance: Choose a qualified rental company to conduct at least two comprehensive cleanings per day, increase inspections during peak times, and provide consumables such as toilet paper and hand sanitizer with dynamic replenishment.
- Emergency and Safety: Define procedures for equipment repair and extreme weather protection (e.g., sunshades, drainage systems), and assign 1-2 on-site maintenance personnel.
- Signage and Wayfinding: Install bilingual (Chinese and English) signs, design fluorescent arrows or themed patterns based on the event theme, and use LED light boxes at night to enhance visibility.
IV. Cost and Budget Optimization
- Flexible Rental Period Adjustment: Reduce the number of toilets by 30% during rehearsals and restore the allocation for the official performance to avoid resource waste.
- Cost-Effectiveness of Additional Services: Prioritize rental companies that offer one-stop services including transportation, installation, commissioning, cleaning, and removal/recycling, and comprehensively evaluate cost-effectiveness.
