How to Design the Circuit for Mobile Toilets

Admin October 07, 2026

The circuit design for mobile toilets should focus on electrical load, circuit safety, equipment compatibility, and construction specifications. The following are the specific design points:

I. Power Supply Design

Calculate the total electrical load based on the number of mobile toilets and the power of equipment (such as lighting, ventilation, and heating). Use an independent distribution box for power supply to avoid sharing circuits with other equipment. For example, when the total calculated load is 12kW, a 380V three-phase five-wire system can be selected for connection, and additional electrical capacity should be reserved for winter heating equipment (such as electric tracing devices). The distribution box should be equipped with a leakage protector to ensure automatic power-off in case of overload or short circuit.

II. Circuit Layout and Safety Protection

  1. Temporary Circuit Installation: Prioritize overhead or conduit-buried installation. Overhead circuits should be at a height of ≥2.5 meters and maintain a safety distance of ≥0.5 meters from ground objects. Buried circuits should be protected by PVC conduits with a burial depth of ≥0.7 meters, avoiding water sources, heat sources, and vehicle碾压 (crushing) areas. When crossing vehicle lanes, galvanized steel conduits should be used for protection, with flared ends at both ends and a bending radius of ≥12 times the cable diameter.
  2. Joint Treatment: All circuit joints must be wrapped and fixed with insulating tape, and bare joints are strictly prohibited. External sockets should be equipped with waterproof boxes (with a protection rating of IP65) to prevent short circuits due to water ingress on rainy days. Set inspection points every 10 meters and regularly test the grounding resistance (≤4Ω). When buried circuits are installed in galvanized steel conduits, the burial depth should be no less than 0.5 meters.

III. Equipment Configuration and Electrical Specifications

  1. Lighting System: Use energy-saving LED fixtures (such as 10W/AC220V). The illumination in general areas should be ≥75 lux, and emergency power supplies should be configured at night to ensure at least 2 hours of power supply after a power outage.
  2. Ventilation System: The exhaust fan has a power of 220V/30W, and the air exchange rate should be ≥8 times per hour. A gas sensor network can automatically monitor ammonia concentration and activate the fresh air system when it exceeds 15ppm.
  3. Heating System: Install electric tracing devices (220V/15W/m) in winter to prevent freezing of water supply and drainage pipes.
  4. Smart Devices: The emergency call device (DC24V/0.1A) should have an audible and visual alarm function. Laser sensors monitor the usage status of toilet stalls and display the information in real-time on LED screens.

IV. Construction and Acceptance Specifications

Construction personnel must be certified and prohibited from making unauthorized electrical connections. After the project is completed, it should be inspected by professionals to confirm that the circuits are intact, the grounding is normal, and the load matches. During use, daily inspections should be conducted, and hidden dangers should be rectified immediately. It is recommended to carry out system maintenance every quarter.

V. Adaptation to Special Scenarios

  1. Large-scale Events: Arrange toilets at a density of 500 people per stall, with the first row of toilets set within 20 meters of the main entrance and a 5-minute accessible service circle formed in the core area.
  2. Construction Sites: Toilet stations must be set up in the middle area between the living area and the work area, with one toilet stall provided for every 20 workers. Toilets near hazardous work areas should use explosion-proof electrical equipment.
