Lichuan Street Mobile Toilets

Admin September 22, 2026

Lichuan has set up two mobile public toilets on its streets to flexibly meet the toilet needs of citizens and tourists. Here is a detailed introduction to Lichuan's mobile toilets and related toilet facilities:

Core Functions and Advantages of Mobile Toilets
The two mobile public toilets installed in Lichuan are mobile, allowing for flexible adjustments in location based on urban management needs or changes in pedestrian flow distribution. This feature enables them to quickly respond to toilet demands during temporary events (such as festivals and exhibitions) and also serve as supplementary facilities in areas where fixed public toilets are insufficient, such as old urban areas or newly developed regions. Additionally, the design of mobile toilets emphasizes environmental adaptability, utilizing enclosed structures to reduce odor diffusion and equipped with independent sewage systems to prevent pollution of the surrounding environment, thereby contributing to the optimization of urban appearance and the improvement of public health standards.

Overall Layout of the Urban Public Toilet System
In addition to mobile toilets, Lichuan has constructed a city-wide fixed public toilet network through scientific planning. As of now, there are a total of 50 urban public toilets in the city, including:

  • Class I Public Toilets (23 units): Primarily located in high-traffic areas such as city squares and commercial centers, equipped with barrier-free facilities, baby care rooms, and third toilets to meet diverse needs;
  • Class II Public Toilets (25 units): Covering secondary roads and community surroundings, providing basic toilet services with a focus on practicality and maintenance efficiency.
    This tiered layout ensures that public toilet resources match population density, alleviating the issue of "difficulty in finding toilets."

Innovative Practice of the "Shared Toilet" Model
To further expand the coverage of public toilets, Lichuan has promoted the "shared toilet" mechanism:

  • First Batch of Pilots: By 2018, the toilets of 37 government agencies, enterprises, and institutions had been fully opened to the public;
  • Expansion Goals: It is planned to achieve the sharing of 140 toilets across 111 units in the same year, covering places such as schools, hospitals, and shopping malls.
    This model significantly increases the density of public toilets by integrating social resources and incorporating toilets originally intended only for internal use into the public system, providing convenience especially for remote areas or places where the construction of fixed public toilets is restricted.

Comprehensive Benefits and Social Value
Lichuan's public toilet construction strategy embodies a multi-dimensional approach of "flexible supplementation + fixed coverage + social sharing". The mobility of mobile toilets, the stability of fixed public toilets, and the expansiveness of shared toilets combine to meet daily needs and respond to emergency scenarios, while also enhancing the city's civilized image and residents' quality of life through the optimization of environmental hygiene and urban management.
