The situation regarding mobile toilets in Huzhou District mainly falls into two categories: shared toilets and mobile toilet rentals.
Shared Toilets
In 2026, the first batch of 15 units joined the "shared toilet" initiative, opening their internal restrooms to the public from March 1st. The newly added locations are primarily government agencies and institutions, with opening hours mostly synchronized with office hours. For example, the Wenbo Community Residents' Committee is open from 8:30 to 11:30 and 14:00 to 16:30, Monday through Friday; the Huzhou Federation of Trade Unions is open from 8:30 to 17:00, Monday through Friday; and the Huzhou South Taihu New District Branch of the Huzhou Market Supervision and Administration Bureau has different opening hours for summer and winter. These new locations are uniformly equipped with "shared toilet" directional signs and information boards, and are gradually being added to the "Huzhou Public Toilets" WeChat mini-program and Gaode Maps for easy public access. As of now, the total number of "shared toilets" in the city has reached 177, essentially forming a "five-minute toilet access circle." The opening of shared toilets fully utilizes the internal restroom resources of government agencies and institutions, providing convenient toilet facilities for the public during office hours, effectively alleviating the problem of difficult toilet access in public areas, and greatly enhancing the convenience and comfort of life, especially for nearby residents and passersby.
Mobile Toilet Rentals
Huzhou offers mobile toilet rental services to meet the toilet needs of large-scale events (such as music festivals and concerts) and construction sites. Several companies provide these services, including Liwei Sanitation Equipment, Jingming Environmental Protection Equipment, and Shanghai Jingbaijie Environmental Protection Equipment Co., Ltd., all of which offer 24-hour services. During large-scale events, where there is a high density of people and a significant increase in toilet demand, mobile toilet rental services can quickly deploy a sufficient number of toilets at the event site to ensure the smooth progress of the event. For construction sites, due to the relatively long construction period and fixed location, mobile toilets can be flexibly arranged and adjusted according to the actual conditions of the site to meet the daily toilet needs of workers.
