How to Write the Construction Process of Prefabricated Houses

Admin September 18, 2026

The construction process of prefabricated houses mainly includes steps such as foundation preparation, prefabricated component production, on-site assembly, wall treatment, installation of doors, windows, and pipelines, roof construction, interior decoration and facility installation, and final inspection upon completion.

  1. Foundation Preparation: Before construction, the area needs to be surveyed and measured, ground obstacles cleared, and the foundation excavated and uniformly compacted according to design requirements to ensure that the foundation's flatness and load-bearing capacity meet standards, providing a stable base for subsequent construction.

  2. Prefabricated Component Production:

    • Factory Production: Prefabricated components such as wall panels, floor slabs, and beams and columns are produced in the factory according to design drawings. Some components (such as prefabricated slabs) are made by nailing wooden boards to create hollow molds, arranging steel bars, pouring cement, and demolding after drying. In the Chinese prefabricated housing model, the house is divided into independent standard modules (such as bedrooms, kitchens, and bathrooms). Steel structure welding, wall laying, pre-embedding of water and electricity pipelines, door and window installation, and full-house fine decoration are completed in the factory. When leaving the factory, the modules already have complete functions.
  3. On-site Assembly:

    • Component Assembly: The prefabricated components are spliced according to design requirements, including three-dimensional connection of wall panels, installation of floor slabs, and fixation of beams and columns. Precise measurement and adjustment are required to ensure tight connections and a sturdy structure. In the Chinese model, after the modules arrive at the site, they are lifted and connected through crane lifting and interface docking, similar to assembling Lego blocks.
    • Connection and Fixation: Use a level to measure the verticality of the columns, fix the structure with connecting pieces such as upper corner heads and top short beams, and add supports to ensure stability.
  4. Wall Treatment: The wall surface is leveled (such as by plastering or bricklaying) and then decorated with paint to enhance its appearance and durability.

  5. Installation of Doors, Windows, and Pipelines: Install door and window frames and seal them firmly. At the same time, arrange water, electricity, and gas pipelines to ensure system connectivity.

  6. Roof Construction: Build the roof structure, lay roofing materials (such as tiles or metal sheets), and carry out waterproofing treatment to prevent leakage.

  7. Interior Decoration and Facility Installation:

    • In the traditional model, it is necessary to install ceilings, wires, and insulation materials, fix roof tiles, and carry out wall painting, floor laying, and other decorations.
    • In the Chinese prefabricated housing model, interior decoration has been completed in the factory, and only a small amount of finishing work (such as filling gaps) after module connection needs to be done on-site.
  8. Final Inspection upon Completion: After construction is completed, a comprehensive inspection is carried out to confirm that the building meets design requirements and relevant regulations and standards, ensuring that safety and functionality are up to standard.
