How to Make a Mobile Toilet
Admin September 22, 2026
There are various ways to make a mobile toilet. Here, we introduce a method using a water storage tank and briefly explain the classification of mobile toilets.

Making a Mobile Toilet Using a Water Storage Tank
- Basic Structure Construction: Split the water storage tank in half lengthwise. Fix universal wheels at the four corners of a wooden board for easy mobility. Attach wooden strips to the upper side of the tank to increase height, preparing for the installation of the roof and walls.
- Wall and Roof Construction: Create an opening on the side of the water storage tank for the door. Install sponge strips to form the door frame and insert plastic soft panels to create raised walls. Place the upper half of the water storage tank on top of the wooden strips as the roof. Apply waterproof paint to the wooden strips to prevent rain erosion.
- Door and Floor Drain Installation: Use foam strips to拼接 (assemble) discarded honeycomb wooden boards to make a simple door. Create a hole at the bottom of the tank and install a drainpipe to form a floor drain for easy sewage discharge.
- Water Storage and Water Supply Device Setup: Drill holes on the side and bottom of a plastic bucket and install direct connectors. Place the plastic bucket on the roof to form a small water storage device. Connect a water pipe to make a shower heater. Install a three-way connector below the water inlet pipe and connect a showerhead to meet bathing needs.
- Toilet and Sewage System Installation: Place the toilet and install the water tank, securing it with glass glue. Connect the drainpipe to the sewage tank to ensure proper sewage discharge.
- Handwashing Basin Water Inlet Pipe Setup: Horizontally connect a water pipe to the three-way connector of the outlet pipe and extend it to the door as the water inlet pipe for the handwashing basin. Drill a hole in the door, install a connector, and connect a hose for easy use of the handwashing basin.
Classification of Mobile Toilets
- By Structural Form: They can be divided into single-structure mobile toilets and composite-structure mobile toilets. Single-structure toilets are relatively simple and independent, while composite-structure toilets may be composed of multiple parts and have more complex functions.
- By Mobility Method: There are lifting and carrying-type mobile toilets, which rely on lifting equipment or manual carrying for movement; and powered and towed-type mobile toilets, which can be moved by power drive or being towed by vehicles.
- By Sewage Treatment Method: They are classified into water-flush and waterless-suction mobile toilets. Water-flush toilets use water to flush away excreta, while waterless-suction toilets handle it through suction. There are also circulating water-flush mobile toilets that can recycle the flushing water, making them more environmentally friendly and water-saving.
