How to Install Glass in Mobile Toilets

Admin October 01, 2026

The installation of glass in mobile toilets can refer to the steps for replacing toilet glass, as detailed below:

Preliminary Preparations

  • Confirm Basic Information: Accurately measure the glass dimensions (length × width × thickness) and record the type of glass, such as tempered glass, frosted glass, or laminated glass. Among them, tempered glass is impact-resistant and does not produce sharp fragments when broken, making it the preferred choice. At the same time, inspect the condition of the installation frame to check for deformation or rust. If the frame is damaged, it should be repaired simultaneously to ensure the frame is stable and provides a good foundation for subsequent installation.
  • Prepare Tools and Materials: Essential tools include 2-3 suction cups, screwdrivers, a glass caulking gun, scrapers, a tape measure, gloves, and safety goggles. For materials, you will need glass that matches the measured dimensions, as well as waterproof glass caulk (mold-resistant type) and sealing strips. Waterproof glass caulk effectively prevents water penetration and ensures the tightness of the installation.

Core Replacement Steps

  • Ensure Safety Precautions: Wear cut-resistant gloves and safety goggles to prevent being cut by glass or having glass fragments splash into your eyes during the operation. Clear surrounding items to avoid damage from flying glass fragments. If it is glass for a high-rise toilet, a stable scaffold or lifting equipment should be set up, and throwing objects from high altitudes is strictly prohibited to ensure construction safety.
  • Remove the Old Glass: First, use a scraper to clean the old glass caulk or sealing strips from the edges of the glass to make the separation between the glass and the frame smoother. Then, use suction cups to adhere to the surface of the glass and apply even force to tilt and remove it outward, preventing the glass from suddenly slipping. If the glass is already broken, use tape to cross-stick it in a "#" pattern to prevent the fragments from scattering, and then clean up the fragments one by one and put them into sealed bags.
  • Install the New Glass: Clean the inside of the frame to remove dust and old caulk residue, ensuring the frame surface is clean. Apply a layer of waterproof glass caulk about 3mm thick evenly over the inside of the frame to enhance tightness. Alternatively, you can refer to another method: remove the rubber strips on both sides of the door, place the new glass into the slot from top to bottom, and finally reinsert the rubber strips into the slots to secure the glass.
