How to Install Curtains in Container Houses
Admin September 16, 2026
When installing curtains in container houses, it is necessary to choose the appropriate method based on the window type, space requirements, and installation conditions. Common methods include track installation, curtain rod installation, and special structure adaptation installation, as follows:

1. Track Installation
Track installation is suitable for most container house windows, especially curved or non-standard-sized windows.
- Positioning and Measurement: First, accurately measure the width and height of the window to determine the installation position of the track. If the window width exceeds 1200mm, the track should be disconnected and staggered for bending, with an overlap length of no less than 200mm to ensure track stability.
- Track Fixation: Choose the fixation method based on the material of the container house. For metal walls, use expansion screws to fix the track; for wooden or composite material walls, self-tapping screws can be used for direct fixation.
- Curtain Hanging: After the track is installed, attach curtain hooks or rings to the curtains and then hang them on the track to ensure smooth sliding of the curtains.
2. Curtain Rod Installation
Curtain rod installation is suitable for standard rectangular windows with load-bearing walls.
- Determine Installation Position: The width of the curtain rod should extend 20-30 centimeters beyond both sides of the window frame, and the height should be determined based on the design of exposed or concealed rods. Exposed rods are usually installed in the middle position from the ceiling to the top of the window frame, while concealed rods are installed inside the curtain box.
- Drilling and Fixation: Use an electric drill to make holes in the wall, with a hole spacing of no more than 50 centimeters. If the wall is made of concrete, fill in expansion screws; if it is made of wood, use self-tapping screws for direct fixation.
- Curtain Hanging: Fix the curtain rod on the mounting brackets, then hang the curtains on the rod, adjust the position of the curtains to ensure that they are fixed on both sides when pulled together, preventing the curtains from all moving to the middle.
3. Special Structure Adaptation Installation
For special structures in container houses, such as bay windows or curved windows, customized installation methods are required.
- Bay Window Installation: If the bay window has a large space, a double-layer curtain design can be adopted, with sheer curtains installed near the window to soften the light and heavy curtains installed against the wall for complete light blocking. If the bay window has a small space, it is recommended to install the curtains near the window to save space.
- Curved Window Installation: Curved windows require flexible tracks or customized curtain rods to adapt to the window curvature. During installation, ensure that the track or curtain rod fits perfectly with the window curvature to prevent light leakage.
