How to Build Prefabricated Houses

Admin September 18, 2026

The construction methods of prefabricated houses mainly include four types: modular construction, prefabricated detachable container house construction, pre-cast house production, and foldable prefabricated house construction. Details are as follows:

Modular construction method: The house is divided into multiple independent modules, each resembling a 'large building block'. In the factory, the ceiling, floor, water and electricity pipelines, and even the waterproof layer of the bathroom are prefabricated. The factory production process is highly automated, with scattered components produced separately upstairs and then assembled using welding robots at the final assembly station. This model is similar to the automotive industry, with multiple processes carried out in parallel, reducing the construction period by more than 60%. After the modules are transported to the site, they can be quickly formed by splicing, significantly improving construction efficiency.

Prefabricated detachable container house construction method: Based on a standardized frame, structural assembly is completed step by step. First, the bottom frame is installed, with the lower corner heads and bottom beams fixed by bolts. The purlins are laid, and the diagonal lines are measured to ensure verticality. Subsequently, the columns are connected to the bottom frame, with activity space reserved and MGO boards laid to level the floor. The top structure installation includes connecting the upper corner heads with the long and short beams, using a level to calibrate the verticality of the columns, reinforcing the top purlins, and then installing the drainage system. For wall installation, sealing strips are pasted, wall panels are fixed, and positions for doors and windows are reserved. The ceiling is fixed according to the conditions of the wall panels on both sides. Finally, wire laying, insulation layer installation, and roof tile fixation are completed to form a complete enclosed space.

Pre-cast house production method: Using steel molds as carriers, tiles are pre-embedded on the surface of the exterior wall panels through the reverse casting process. The specific process includes making steel molds, laying tiles, binding steel bars, installing embedded parts (such as lifting lugs and steel bar connectors), followed by concrete pouring and steam curing. After demolding, the tile gaps are treated, component numbers are printed, and they are classified and stored. The exterior wall panels adopt the reverse casting process, which means the tiles are fixed first and then the concrete is poured, ensuring the integration of the tiles and the wall, enhancing durability and aesthetics.

Foldable prefabricated house construction method: All interior decorations and system integrations (such as water and electricity, furniture) are completed in the factory, and the house is compressed to the size of a container for transportation through a folding structure. On-site installation only requires unfolding the main structure and connecting the water and electricity to achieve 'ready-to-use'. This model greatly simplifies the construction process and is especially suitable for temporary housing, emergency rescue, and other scenarios.
