Home Portable Toilet Production

Admin October 08, 2026

Home portable toilets can be produced using the following three methods, and the appropriate plan should be selected based on material and functional requirements:

Plan 1: Water Storage Tank Modification

  1. Main Structure: Select a household water storage tank and split it in half with an angle grinder. Fix universal wheels at the four corners of a wooden board (ensure a load-bearing capacity of ≥50kg), and raise and fix wooden strips on the top of the tank to form an operating platform.
  2. Walls and Roof: Cut an opening on the side of the water storage tank for the door, install sponge strips to form the door frame, and embed plastic soft panels to create raised walls; invert the upper half of the tank onto the top of the wooden strips as the roof, and apply white waterproof paint to enhance aesthetics.
  3. Drainage System: Drill a hole at the bottom of the tank to install a drain pipe (forming a floor drain), drill a hole on the side to connect a direct joint, and place a plastic bucket as a small water storage device; connect a simple bathroom heater modified from a water pipe, install a tee joint below the water inlet pipe, and connect a showerhead.
  4. Toilet and Sink: Place a toilet and install a water tank, and fix it with glass glue; extend the drain pipe to the door as the water inlet pipe for the sink, and drill a hole in the door to install a joint. Features: Comprehensive functionality, but requires many tools (such as an angle grinder) and hands-on skills, suitable for long-term use scenarios.

Plan 2: Modular Water Storage Tank Type

  1. Main Body Selection: Select a food-grade PE water storage tank (recommended capacity of 100L, such as brands like Chahua and Meiliya), and install universal wheels with brakes at the bottom (load-bearing capacity of ≥50kg).
  2. Bracket and Enclosure: Use PVC pipes to make a 1.2m×0.8m square bracket, cover it with Oxford cloth waterproof fabric, and leave a ventilation opening at the top; drill two holes on the side of the tank to connect an outlet pipe (equipped with a 2-分管 and a small faucet) and an overflow pipe respectively.
  3. Functional Modules: Place a folding toilet on the tank (select a biodegradable plastic bag type, such as the Nature's Head portable model), and place a small sink next to it to connect to the outlet pipe; install a float switch inside the tank to automatically remind you to add water when the water level is low, and place an anti-slip mat at the bottom.
  4. Environmental Protection Design: The wastewater can be used to flush the toilet or water the flowers. In winter, wrap insulation cotton around the pipes to prevent freezing. Features: Easy to obtain materials, simple assembly, suitable for temporary or environmental protection requirement scenarios.

Plan 3: Simple Tray Type

  1. Basic Structure: Take a plastic tray and fix universal wheels at the four corners at the bottom (ensure flexible movement).
  2. Functional Expansion: You can directly place a portable toilet or a folding bedpan, and match it with a small water storage tank and a manual flushing device. Features: The simplest structure and low cost, but with single functionality, suitable for short-term emergency use.

Precautions: Before production, evaluate the space, water demand, and tool conditions, and prioritize the selection of food-grade materials to ensure safety. The drainage system should be sealed to prevent leaks.
