Gucheng Construction Site Portable Toilet
Admin October 19, 2026
The management of portable toilets at the Gucheng construction site should be standardized and implemented from three aspects: allocation, maintenance, and usage, to safeguard the health of construction workers and the project's image.

I. Allocation Requirements
- Quantity and Gender Ratio: According to the "Hubei Province Construction Site Environment and Hygiene Standards", portable toilets should be allocated based on the number of construction workers, with one standard stall per 50 people. Additionally, the number of female stalls should exceed that of male stalls (recommended ratio of 1:1.5) to avoid long queues for women. For example, a construction site with 100 workers requires at least 2 female stalls and 3 male stalls.
- Adaptation to Special Areas: In high-temperature work areas and densely populated areas, barrier-free toilets or portable toilets with ventilation systems should be added to enhance user comfort.
- Location Selection: Toilets should be placed away from construction dust zones and living areas, maintaining a distance of over 30 meters from canteens and dormitories to prevent the spread of odors and pollution.
II. Daily Maintenance
- Cleaning Frequency and Standards: Clean at least twice daily, including wiping surfaces, emptying waste, and replenishing toilet paper and hand soap. Use biodegradable cleaning products to reduce environmental pollution.
- Odor Control: Improve odors using chemical deodorizers or plant-based air fresheners. Before the rainy season, inspect the toilet's bottom seal to prevent water leakage; during winter, apply anti-freeze measures to pipes to avoid equipment damage.
- Facility Inspection and Repair: Regularly inspect flushing systems, door locks, lighting, and other components, ensuring repairs are made within 24 hours of damage to maintain normal functionality.
III. Usage Guidelines
- Behavioral Restrictions: Post usage instructions at the entrance, clearly prohibiting smoking, littering, climbing on facilities, etc. Arrange for on-duty personnel to patrol and promptly stop uncivilized behavior.
- Night Construction Safety: Equip with emergency lighting and anti-slip mats to ensure safe usage at night.
- Waste Management: Establish a waste removal log to record removal times and frequencies, preventing fecal accumulation. During epidemic prevention and control periods, conduct a comprehensive disinfection once daily to reduce the risk of cross-infection.
By strictly implementing the above standards, portable toilets at the Gucheng construction site can effectively improve hygiene levels, safeguard the health of construction workers, and maintain the project's civilized image.
