Mobile Toilets on Dingdingmen Tianjie Street

Admin October 09, 2026

During the 2024 Spring Festival Fireworks Show, multiple measures were implemented around Dingdingmen Tianjie Street to alleviate toilet pressure, including deploying mobile toilets, adding directional signs, and opening internal public toilets.

Configuration and Functions of Mobile Toilets

The Luoyang Sanitation Department deployed six mobile toilets in a flexible manner in the Ningrenfang area (west of Tianjie Street) of the Dingdingmen Archaeological Park, including two bus-style mobile toilets. These toilets feature several modern functions:

  • Comprehensive Infrastructure: Equipped with lighting systems, exhaust devices, and sensor-based flushing equipment to enhance user convenience;
  • Environmental Comfort: Built-in air conditioners regulate temperature, and handwashing basins provide cleaning facilities, catering to usage needs under different weather conditions;
  • High Space Utilization: The bus-style design optimizes the number of toilet stalls through modular layouts, with each unit accommodating multiple independent stalls to alleviate queuing during peak hours.

Directional Signs and Information Guidance

To help visitors quickly locate toilet positions, the sanitation department added six toilet directional signs around the Tianjie Street venue, clearly indicating the locations of mobile toilets and nearby fixed public toilets. Additionally, eleven toilet layout diagrams were set up, marking stall distributions, barrier-free facilities, and opening hours to reduce visitors' search time. These signs, made of reflective materials, enhance nighttime visibility and complement the lighting systems of the bus-style toilets.

Collaborative Opening of Internal Public Toilets

After coordination, internal public toilets in government agencies, enterprises, and other units near the fireworks show venue will be open to the public during the event. These toilets are typically located on the ground floor or street-facing areas of buildings, with a sufficient number of stalls evenly distributed, further expanding supply capacity. Opening units are required to complete sanitation cleaning, equipment inspections, and temporary sign installations in advance to ensure compliance with public usage standards.

Synergistic Effects of the Measures

The above initiatives form a multi-tiered supply system by integrating mobile, fixed, and internal toilet resources. The mobility of mobile toilets allows for rapid response to changes in visitor flow, the precise guidance of directional signs optimizes visitor movement, and the opening of internal toilets taps into the potential of existing resources. Together, these measures effectively enhance public service capacity in the Dingdingmen Tianjie Street area during large-scale events.
