Diaper Mobile Toilet

Admin September 20, 2026

The “diaper mobile toilet” is not a standard product, but a simple version can be made using diaper materials, or functional structures can be designed by referring to the standards of adult diapers.

Methods for Making a Simple DIY Mobile Toilet

If you need a temporary emergency solution, you can use the core materials of diapers to make a simple mobile toilet:

  1. Material Extraction: Disassemble the diaper and take out the internal superabsorbent polymer (white granules) and fluff pulp (cotton-like substance). These materials have strong water-absorbing properties, can quickly lock in liquids, and reduce odors.
  2. Structure Construction: Fill the absorbent materials into a sealed plastic bag (such as a garbage bag), seal it, and use it as an absorbent layer; or directly use a small cardboard box lined with a plastic bag to form a simple container. When in use, discharge the liquid into the bag, and the absorbent materials will expand and solidify, facilitating subsequent disposal.
  3. Applicable Scenarios: This method is suitable for scenarios without fixed toilets, such as outdoor activities and disaster emergencies. However, it is necessary to replace the filling materials in a timely manner to avoid leakage.

Functional Design References for Adult Mobile Toilets

If you need to design a dedicated product with similar functions for adults, you can refer to the core indicators of adult diapers:

  1. Absorbent Performance:
    • Saturation Absorbency: For moderate incontinence, it should be ≥300g per piece; for severe incontinence, it should be ≥600g per piece to ensure sufficient capacity for single use.
    • Rewet Rate: It should be lower than 8% to prevent liquid from re-wetting the skin and reduce the risk of skin irritation.
  2. Structural Design:
    • Fit: Use elastic waistbands and leg bands to adapt to different body shapes and prevent side leakage.
    • Layered Structure: The top layer should quickly channel the liquid, the middle layer should be superabsorbent polymer, and the bottom leak-proof film should be puncture-resistant and burst-resistant.
  3. Portability:
    • It can be designed as a foldable container with replaceable absorbent cores, similar to a combination of a “mobile urine bag + absorbent module,” which is convenient to carry and clean.

Precautions

  • The DIY simple toilet is only for short-term emergency use. For long-term use, hygiene issues (such as bacterial growth and odor control) need to be considered.
  • The design of dedicated products needs to pass medical-grade tests (such as skin irritation tests and absorption rate tests) to ensure safety.
  • The actual product development needs to optimize the plan by combining engineering (such as structural stability) and material science (such as the degradability of superabsorbent polymers).
