Conditions for Container House Renovation
Admin September 16, 2026
The following conditions must be met for renovating a container house:

I. Legal Procedures and Permits
- Land Legality: Provide proof of property ownership for self-owned land or a legal contract for leased land to ensure the land use complies with renovation requirements.
- Planning Permit: Submit the renovation plan, including information on purpose, dimensions, and location, to the local planning department. Obtain the planning permit document after approval and pay the relevant fees.
- Building Permit: If the renovated container is to be used for living or office purposes, submit architectural design drawings, structural calculation reports, and other documents. Pass the safety assessment and obtain the building permit to ensure compliance with building safety standards such as earthquake resistance and load-bearing capacity.
- Fire Safety Permit: After renovation, equip the container with fire extinguishers, smoke alarms, and other fire safety facilities, set up fire exits, and pass the inspection by the fire department to obtain the fire safety permit document.
- Environmental Protection Procedures: If the container is to be used for activities that may generate pollution, such as catering or processing, go through the environmental impact assessment procedures, equip it with pollution prevention and control facilities, and pass the environmental protection inspection.
- Business Permit: When used for commercial activities, obtain a business license and apply for relevant certificates such as a catering license and a health permit according to the specific purpose.
II. Structural and Safety Performance
- Structural Stability: The renovated container should be free from rust, cracks, and other damage, with firm structural connections, and be able to withstand normal loads and external environmental impacts (such as wind, snow, and earthquakes).
- Fire Resistance: Use fire-resistant materials for interior decoration, install fire-fighting equipment and smoke alarm systems to reduce the risk of fire.
- Ventilation and Lighting: Design the positions and sizes of doors and windows reasonably to ensure sufficient natural lighting and ventilation indoors. If necessary, install auxiliary equipment such as exhaust fans and fresh air systems to improve air quality.
III. Water, Electricity, and Infrastructure
- Water and Electricity Installation Standards: Lay water and electricity lines concealed, use pipes and wires that comply with national standards, and equip them with leakage protection devices to prevent electric shock or water immersion accidents.
- Facility Safety: Insulate water pipes and control circuits separately to ensure long-term safe and reliable use.
Before renovation, fully understand local policies to ensure that all procedures are complete and comply with regulations, thereby safeguarding the legality of the house and the safety of occupancy.
