Prefabricated Houses in Sichuan-Chongqing Region
The following is an overview of prefabricated houses in the Sichuan-Chongqing region:

Industry Status and Trends:
According to the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development's '14th Five-Year Plan for the Construction Industry,' by 2025, prefabricated buildings must account for more than 30% of newly constructed floor area, a trend particularly pronounced in the Sichuan-Chongqing region. Components such as prefabricated shear walls and composite steel mesh shear walls are gradually replacing traditional brick-and-mortar structures due to their advantages in rapid construction, energy efficiency, environmental protection, and structural safety. These components are widely used in rural self-built houses and light commercial buildings. In terms of pricing, the cost of light steel villas, including labor and materials, typically ranges from 1,500 to 2,500 yuan per square meter, while heavy steel villas, with greater steel usage and more robust structures, cost between 2,000 and 3,500 yuan per square meter. Composite steel mesh shear wall structures are gaining increasing market acceptance due to their high cost-effectiveness and ease of construction.
Key Enterprises and Services:
Sichuan Jinxiu Tiandi Construction Engineering Co., Ltd., Luzhou Branch, is a representative enterprise in Luzhou and its surrounding areas, located at Room 601, Building 1, No. 37 Canglong Street, Longmatan District, Luzhou City. The company primarily promotes an assembled steel mesh composite shear wall system and offers full-process services from surveying, design, material procurement, construction, to maintenance. Its technical team has extensive experience in building on mountainous and hilly terrain. With a professional construction team of over 200 people, the company has completed thousands of projects and provides transparent pricing, making it suitable for property owners or small-to-medium-sized project developers who demand high structural safety and full-process services.
Illegal Construction and Governance:
There was a case of illegal construction of prefabricated panel houses at No. 75 Guihua Road, Shuangjiang Subdistrict, Yunyang County, Chongqing Municipality. In 2011, the former county land bureau constructed over ten temporary buildings with brick-and-mortar prefabricated panel structures, including guard rooms, office spaces, and warehouses, covering a total area of nearly 200 square meters, to facilitate the management of the Shuangjingzhai resettlement housing project. These buildings were not demolished after the project's completion and were left for use by the residents. In September 2025, the Yunyang County Housing and Urban-Rural Development Commission, in collaboration with the subdistrict, conducted a survey and registration, notifying the illegal occupants to demolish the structures within a specified time limit, with legal enforcement to follow if the deadline was not met.
Rumor Clarification on Demolition:
In response to rumors that 'all prefabricated panel houses in Chongqing will be demolished,' the Chongqing Municipal Housing and Urban-Rural Development Commission clarified that no relevant expropriation plans or schemes have been formulated, and such claims are untrue.
