China Prefabricated Housing Market
The development trend of China's prefabricated housing market is positive, especially with outstanding performance in overseas markets, becoming a characteristic and advantageous category in China's equipment manufacturing exports.

Significant Export Scale and Growth Rate
Driven by the increasing demand for global digital infrastructure construction, China's prefabricated housing exports have surged. Taking the Shatian Customs under the Huangpu Customs as an example, in the first seven months of this year, it supervised the export of 23 batches of modular houses with a total value of 548 million yuan, a 7.3-fold increase year-on-year. According to Shenzhen Customs data, in the first four months of this year, enterprises across the country exported movable houses worth 1.68 billion yuan through Shenzhen ports, a 19.6% year-on-year increase, with exports to more than 150 countries and regions. In the first four months of 2026, the Guangzhou Customs district exported movable houses worth 1.4 billion yuan, a 38.1% year-on-year increase.
Wide Distribution in Overseas Markets
The ASEAN market has shown particularly prominent growth. After the opening of the direct air route between Dongguan and Vietnam, the delivery cycle has been shortened. Stable bulk orders have been shipped from Indonesia, and markets such as Thailand and Malaysia are also actively engaging in negotiations. At the same time, the warming trend in exports is evident across multiple ports. For example, Guangdong CIMC Construction Manufacturing Co., Ltd.'s products cover a diverse range of categories including high-end office buildings, hotels, and schools, with a market presence in more than 20 countries and regions such as the United Kingdom and Australia. Since this year, overseas orders have continued to grow, and key projects exported to Cameroon, Indonesia, Australia, the United Kingdom, and other places have been successfully delivered.
Outstanding Technological Advantages
Modular construction is a more integrated mode within prefabricated and assembled buildings. China's prefabricated concrete technology originated in the 1950s of the 20th century and has seen a resurgence in the 21st century due to its production efficiency and environmental advantages. For instance, the E-MIC prefabricated concrete box house system developed by China Construction First Bureau Construction Development Co., Ltd. adopts a green and economical design concept and uses a modular unit spacing layout method. This significantly reduces construction cycles and costs, decreases module usage by 30% to 40%, increases the usable floor area ratio, enables faster construction speeds, and offers more flexible spatial arrangements. It is suitable for various construction scenarios and is currently in negotiations for cooperation with multiple countries worldwide.
Broad Future Prospects
Some market research institutions predict that by 2030, the global modular building market size will exceed 142.8 billion US dollars. China is leveraging its advantages across the entire industrial chain to transform 'house building' into a standard industrial product export business.
