Being Hit in a Mobile Toilet

Being hit in a mobile toilet can result in serious casualties and property damage.

Accident Cases and Consequences

• Accident in Arkansas, USA: A truck transporting mobile toilets was traveling when one of the mobile toilets suddenly fell onto the highway. A car behind was unable to avoid it in time and crashed into it. The accident resulted in the death of the driver, a 56-year-old man named Ronald Langley. The accident occurred around 2 p.m. on July 24th near Bentonville, Arkansas, on the southbound lane of Interstate 49, near the 86-mile marker. This indicates that when a mobile toilet falls onto the road, if the vehicle behind fails to notice it in time and take effective evasive measures, it is highly likely to trigger a serious head-on collision, posing a great threat to the lives of the occupants in the vehicle.
• Accident on Youzha Street and Qingnian Road: A runaway truck crashed into a utility pole and a tree, and then smashed into a mobile public toilet on the roadside. Four people inside the toilet were injured, including two toilet attendants and two elderly people using the toilet, and all four had relatively serious injuries. This case shows that when a runaway vehicle hits a mobile toilet, due to the relatively fragile structure of the mobile toilet, which cannot withstand the huge impact force, it will cause serious harm to the people inside the toilet, including fractures, internal organ injuries, etc., and may even be life-threatening.

Accident Cause Analysis

• Unstable fixation of the mobile toilet: During transportation, if the mobile toilet is not firmly fixed, it is prone to fall onto the road during vehicle vibration or turning, becoming an obstacle on the road and triggering a collision accident with the vehicle behind.
• Vehicle out of control: For example, the truck in the accident on Youzha Street and Qingnian Road may have gone out of control due to improper operation by the driver, vehicle malfunctions, etc., and then hit the mobile toilet on the roadside, causing serious consequences.
