Promotion of Fixed Toilet Renovation Projects
Yixian County actively promotes rural toilet renovation projects. Taking the 2024 rural toilet renovation project in Baima Township as an example, the procurement budget amounts to 1,229,440.32 yuan. The procurement requirements are clear, including the renovation of 600 rural dry toilets and the construction of 232 single-unit air-sealed new sanitary toilets and 368 double-unit air-sealed new sanitary toilets. The renovation is comprehensive, covering the construction of septic tanks, the installation of toilets and related components, the installation of exhaust pipes, and the hardening and restoration of floors, thereby improving the sanitary conditions and usability of rural toilets in terms of hardware facilities. Kuangshan Village, as part of the 2023 provincial pilot project for toilet renovation technology models, has renovated 236 households and established pilot projects with two models and seven types. Through practical exploration, a new path for rural toilet renovation that is "promotable, replicable, and sustainable" has been paved, providing valuable experience for other regions.
Water Supply and Sewerage Renovation to Support Toilet Renovation
Taking the "Toilet Revolution" and the improvement of the living environment as opportunities, the county comprehensively promotes rural water supply and sewerage renovation projects. By laying main pipelines, installing individual water meters, and renovating sanitary toilets, the problems of "indiscriminate discharge of sewage and littering" have been effectively addressed. Currently, more than 120 villages in the county have completed water supply and sewerage renovations, benefiting over 100,000 people. The renovation of water supply and sewerage not only improves the sanitary environment in rural areas but also provides convenient conditions for the use of sanitary toilets, further promoting the process of rural toilet renovation and significantly improving the rural living environment.
Trailer-Mounted Mobile Toilets to Meet Demand
Yixian County has also introduced trailer-mounted mobile toilets, which are temporary sanitary facilities that can be towed and moved. They do not rely on fixed foundations or complex sewage pipe network connections. Their core components include a chassis and box for mobility, internal sanitary units, and waste collection and treatment systems. These mobile toilets are suitable for temporary demand scenarios where fixed facilities cannot cover or where construction is not economical, such as rural markets, outdoor cultural events, or short-term project sites. They provide flexible solutions for sanitary needs in various rural scenarios.
