Yangjiashan Mobile Toilet (Actually Fixed Ecological Toilets)

Admin September 21, 2026

The toilets in Yangjiashan Village are not mobile toilets, but fixed ecological public toilets and customized household toilets using waterless flushing technology. The following is an introduction from four aspects: technology type, construction scale, energy supply, and project background:

Technology Type: The ecological toilets in Yangjiashan Village adopt advanced waterless flushing technology. The public toilets are equipped with self-sealing structures for the toilet bowls, which effectively block odors and mosquitoes and flies, enhancing the user experience. For fecal waste treatment, a mixture of microbial agents and haloxylon ammodendron shells is used for degradation, and the degraded products can be directly returned to the fields for utilization, achieving resource recycling. The household toilets are equipped with photovoltaic heating and lighting systems, which are not only environmentally friendly but also save households an average of about 300 yuan in electricity bills annually, demonstrating the dual advantages of energy conservation and economy.

Construction Scale: As of June 2026, Yangjiashan Village has completed the construction of a 75-square-meter ecological public toilet, meeting the toilet needs in public areas. At the same time, the toilet renovations for 10 key assistance households have been completed, improving the living conditions of these families and reflecting the project's attention and support for vulnerable groups.

Energy Supply: Both the public and household toilets rely on photovoltaic power generation for "zero electricity cost" operation, fully utilizing renewable energy and reducing operational costs. In winter, a graphene heating system ensures that the pipes do not freeze, ensuring the normal progress of the microbial degradation process and maintaining the indoor temperature above 0℃, enhancing comfort during winter use.

Project Background: These toilets are part of the "Plateau Ecological Toilet" public welfare project implemented by State Grid Zhejiang Electric Power in collaboration with the Tsinghua University Wuxi Applied Technology Research Institute and other units. The project aims to solve the toilet problems in high-altitude and water-scarce areas. Through technological innovation and model exploration, it provides replicable and promotable ecological toilet solutions for similar areas, holding significant social importance and demonstration value.
