Xiaogan Prefabricated Assembled Houses
The prefabricated assembled houses in Xiaogan mainly include three types: packing-box units, green prefabricated villas, and light steel houses, with their characteristics and application scenarios as follows:

Packing-box units are transformed from standard container modules. Core components such as structural frames, insulation layers, and water and electricity lines are all prefabricated in the factory, and only rapid splicing and assembly are required on-site. Their greatest advantages lie in convenience and mobility. They can be hoisted as a whole or transported in parts, suitable for scenarios with high timeliness requirements, such as temporary command centers for engineering construction, industry workstations (e.g., field operation sites for oil exploration and power maintenance), and emergency resettlement (e.g., temporary living quarters after natural disasters). Due to modular design, their space can be flexibly combined according to needs, but long-term use requires attention to anti-corrosion treatment and structural stability maintenance.
Green prefabricated villas use agricultural waste such as straw and rice stalks as raw materials, which are processed into eco-friendly building materials (e.g., straw panels from Xinghe Building Materials) through special processes, replacing traditional reinforced concrete and bricks and tiles. Taking a 227㎡ model house in Xiaogan as an example, four workers can complete the assembly in just seven days, reflecting its characteristics of high construction efficiency and strong disassemblability. Such houses are not only eco-friendly (reducing construction waste and carbon emissions) but also mobile, allowing repeated disassembly and assembly. They are suitable for temporary office spaces (e.g., exhibitions, event bases), field operation camps (e.g., scientific research stations), and tourist resorts (e.g., homestays, camping bases). However, attention should be paid to raw material moisture-proof treatment to avoid long-term exposure to high-humidity environments.
Light steel houses use light steel structures as the main frame, paired with decorative insulation integrated panels or sandwich panels (e.g., rock wool, polystyrene) to form an overall load-bearing and enclosure system. Their price range is from 550 yuan per square meter to 4,288 yuan per unit, offering integrated design, production, and construction services with short construction periods and high standardization. Light steel houses are suitable for rural self-built houses (e.g., farmers' residences, nursing homes), prefabricated villas in tourist attractions (e.g., scenic area homestays, resorts), and other scenarios, especially those with high requirements for structural safety and durability. Attention should be paid to the quality of the light steel anti-corrosion coating and regular inspection of the reliability of node connections to ensure long-term use safety.
All three types of houses reflect the core advantages of prefabricated assembly technology, namely "industrial production and rapid on-site assembly", but they differ in materials, structures, and applicable scenarios, requiring selection based on specific needs (e.g., budget, usage cycle, environmental conditions).
