Xiamen Container House Production

Admin September 15, 2026

The production of container houses in Xiamen requires comprehensive consideration of various factors such as design, materials, production, installation, and compliance.

I. Design Concept and Structural Features
Container houses in Xiamen often adopt a modular design, using standard containers as prototypes and expanding space by combining multiple containers (e.g., 2-3 story buildings). Their core structure is a light steel frame system, with walls covered in composite EPS panels, providing high thermal insulation performance suitable for construction sites, field operations, factory buildings, and other scenarios. The external dimensions are typically 5760mm×2880mm×2600mm, with an overall area of about 18㎡. Internal systems such as circuits, roofing, and flooring are prefabricated in the factory, enabling convenient on-site installation and shortening delivery cycles.

II. Material Selection and Performance

  1. Main Materials: The main components of the container (side walls, end walls, roof) can be made of aluminum alloy, steel, or fiberglass. Aluminum alloy is lightweight and corrosion-resistant but has poor welding performance; steel is strong and inexpensive but has weaker corrosion resistance; fiberglass offers good thermal insulation and corrosion resistance but is prone to aging.
  2. Sandwich Panel Materials: High-quality products use hot-dip galvanized C-shaped steel or square tubes as the main frame, with rock wool or polyurethane foam filler in the sandwich layer, achieving a combustion performance of GB8624 B1 or higher, meeting fire safety acceptance standards.
  3. Accessories and Decorations: Rain shelters, doors, windows, and other decorative accessories can be added at the factory. Some companies introduce BIM layout systems to achieve precise pre-embedding of pipelines and reserved openings for doors and windows.

III. Production and Installation Process

  1. Factory Prefabrication: This includes steel structure welding, wall panel installation, circuit system wiring, etc., ensuring dimensional accuracy (tolerance controlled within ±3mm) through automated production lines.
  2. On-site Installation: The house can be transported as a whole or compressed and packaged for transport. The on-site foundation work is minimal, and the entire unit can be used immediately after hoisting, demonstrating strong adaptability and enabling rapid deployment as temporary offices, accommodations, kitchens, and other facilities.
  3. Reusability: Container houses can be used continuously for 10 years and do not generate construction waste during use, aligning with green building concepts.

IV. Compliance and Safety
They must comply with national building quality standards and special equipment regulations, ensuring wind resistance (120km/h wind speed) and earthquake resistance (9-degree seismic fortification intensity). Additionally, illegal modifications should be avoided. For example, the Huli District Urban Management and Law Enforcement Bureau once investigated illegally occupied container houses, emphasizing the safety hazards associated with their use for living or production and business operations.
