Wind Speed Resistance of Container Houses

Admin September 17, 2026

Container houses typically have a wind speed resistance range of 17.2-40 meters per second, depending on factors such as house quality, structural stability, steel strength, and fixing methods.

1. Wind resistance of ordinary container houses
Under normal circumstances, ordinary container houses can withstand wind force levels of around 8-10, corresponding to wind speeds of approximately 17.2-24.4 meters per second. These houses usually use standard steel for their frames, have a relatively simple structure, and are suitable for areas with low wind speeds or short-term use scenarios.

2. High-quality, structurally stable container houses
If a container house is of high quality, structurally stable, and uses high-strength steel for its frame, it can resist strong winds of around 10 to 12 levels with proper fixing. Among them, the wind speed range for level 10 is 24.5-28.4 meters per second, and for level 12, it is approximately 32.7-36.9 meters per second. These houses are usually reinforced and are suitable for coastal areas with strong winds or long-term use scenarios.

3. Wind resistance of top-of-the-line all-steel container houses
The top-of-the-line all-steel container houses, after special design and reinforcement, have been tested to withstand typhoons of level 13, corresponding to wind speeds of approximately 40 meters per second. These houses usually use higher-strength steel and more stable structural designs, enabling them to withstand strong winds under extreme weather conditions.

4. Differences between wind resistance and actual performance
It should be noted that the wind resistance of container houses is not absolute. Even if a house is claimed to be able to resist level 10 strong winds, improper fixing methods or structural defects in the house may cause damage under level 8 strong winds (wind speeds of 17.2-20.7 meters per second). Therefore, when selecting and using container houses, in addition to considering their claimed wind resistance, attention should also be paid to their actual structural stability, fixing methods, and usage environment.
