Container Mobile House Pressing Groove Plate

Admin September 17, 2026

The pressing groove plate of a container mobile house is a groove-shaped recess on the four side panels of the container, used to connect containers to form a larger space. The common material is steel plate, and the manufacturing methods include cold bending or hot bending. It is widely used in fields such as transportation and floating dock.

Structure and Function

The pressing groove plate of a container mobile house is a key structure on the side panels of the container. Its groove-shaped recess design allows the side panels to form raised parts under external force. This design enables the pressing groove plates of adjacent containers to interlock with each other through mechanical interlocking principles, thus stably connecting them to form a larger space. For example, in temporary buildings or modular warehouses, multiple containers connected through pressing groove plates can form continuous wall or roof structures, significantly improving space utilization.

Material and Heat Treatment

The common material for pressing groove plates is steel plate, with core performance requirements including high hardness, wear resistance, and deformation resistance. To meet these requirements, steel plates usually undergo quenching heat treatment: by heating to a high temperature and then rapidly cooling, the internal structure of the material is transformed into a martensitic structure, greatly enhancing hardness and wear resistance. After quenching, the steel plate also needs to be tempered to eliminate internal stresses and optimize toughness, preventing cracking due to excessive brittleness.

Manufacturing Process

The manufacturing of pressing groove plates is divided into two methods: cold bending and hot bending:

  • Cold Bending Process: A cold bending machine is used to bend the steel plate into a groove shape at room temperature. This method is efficient and cost-effective but requires strict control of the bending radius to prevent cracks from forming due to excessive deformation of the material.
  • Hot Bending Process: The steel plate is heated above the recrystallization temperature (usually 600-900°C) and then bent into shape using a mold. Hot bending can handle more complex groove structures but requires additional control of the heating temperature and cooling rate to prevent material oxidation or deformation.
Regardless of the method, the manufacturing process includes steps such as cutting, punching, and bending. Cutting must ensure dimensional accuracy, punching is used for installing bolts or rivets, and bending requires specialized molds to ensure the groove angle meets standards (usually 90° or 120°).

Application Scenarios

The connecting function of pressing groove plates makes them widely used in multiple fields:

  • Container Transportation: By connecting through pressing groove plates, containers can be stacked or fixed side by side, improving transportation stability.
  • Floating Docks: Pressing groove plates connect multiple containers to form a floating platform, supporting cargo loading and unloading or personnel activities.
  • Temporary Buildings: Such as construction site offices and post-disaster relief housing, pressing groove plates quickly connect containers, shortening construction periods and reducing costs.
Their core value lies in their standardized and modular design, allowing containers to be flexibly combined to meet different scenario requirements.
