Why Are There Few Mobile Toilets in China?
China does not lack mobile toilets; on the contrary, mobile toilets are gradually being promoted and applied in China.

In urban areas, traditional public toilets are gradually being replaced by mobile eco-friendly toilets. Mobile eco-friendly toilets have many significant advantages. Their toilet fixtures have a bright appearance and are durable, maintaining good condition over long-term use. At the same time, they are water-saving, which is particularly important for cities with relatively scarce water resources. In addition, mobile eco-friendly toilets are odorless and do not leak liquids, providing users with a hygienic and comfortable environment. Moreover, they can be freely moved and are not restricted by power supply or site, allowing flexible placement in urban squares, parks, or venues for temporary events. They are also not affected by the climate and can be used normally under various weather conditions. Their centralized treatment of fecal pollution facilitates utilization, aligning with eco-friendly concepts and contributing to the sustainable development of cities.
In rural areas, the overall situation of rural toilets was once unsatisfactory, with problems such as a small number of toilets, low construction quality, and poor hygiene. To address these issues, mobile toilets have emerged. Mobile toilets have the advantages of portability, hygiene, and flexibility, with relatively low construction costs. They can be designed according to the actual needs of different rural locations to improve usage efficiency. For example, in some remote rural areas where it is difficult to build fixed toilets, mobile toilets can well meet the toilet needs of local residents, improving the quality of life and health level of rural residents. Currently, they have been promoted and applied in some rural areas.
From the perspective of market size, the market size of China's simple mobile toilet industry has been growing year by year. By the end of 2019, approximately 100,000 simple mobile toilets had been built across the country, including about 15,000 mobile toilet vehicles. By the end of 2020, the population covered by mobile toilet services in China had reached 200 million person-times, with an average annual growth rate of over 15%. These data fully indicate that mobile toilets have broad development prospects and a good application situation in China.
